hey i have a 2002 duramax and i have a edge with attitude and at an idle the engine surges slightly i was wondering if any one else has this happen and what causes it and if its anything to worry about? Thanks

Does it still surge if you take the Edge off completely?

no when the chips unhooked it idles normally but when its on it slightly surges on and off and just the other day i started to use some fuel additive which seemed to stop the surging. Im not sure why that helped?

Probably because your FPR was starting to slightly stick, and the additive helped "loosen" it up.

Im going to continue using additives it seems to help and just an overall good idea! Hopefully it will continue to help the engine surge! Have you ever heard of the engine surging on other lb7's?

i have a buddy whos truck surges pretty bad at idle. when he uses a conditioner it stops. but he has to run it in every tank. sounds like the fuel pressure regulator to me as well.

Yep. Try searching the term in this section...you'll be surprised how many results you get.

High lift pump pressure, tuning, ULSD, age, etc all can cause surging.

ok thanks for the info guys i appreciate it! I will continue to use additives it seems to help so probably nothing to worry about i guess!
