I just traded in my 03 silverado and took out the brake controller to install in my 05 2500HD D/A. The 05 came with (like everyone else) pigtail/harness to adapt to your controller for install. Well they changed the pin placement for the 05s and added 1 wire. My 03 controller has 4 wires and the pigtail for the 05 has 5 wires. What I was expecting to do is have to rearrange the pin placement in the plug on my 03 controller and simply install, but the 5th wire on the 05 has thrown me off. Any help would be appreciated

If you are talking about the brown wire. It is for a brake controller that has a light in it that comes on with the headlight switch. Hope this helps.

Take the brake stop feed which will be red or light blue and swap it to the opposite coner and it will work fine

I just talked to the boys at the dealership and they said the same, I will let you know if it works.

I just did mine and this is what I remember - from the controller to the harness - drk blu to drk blu, white to blk, blk to red, red to light blu, brown wrapped up and unused.
