Hi, I tried posting in the tranny section but the new thread button is not working for me in that forum. I have a 1993 c3500 with a 6.2l turbo. The truck is stuck in limp mode so it only has 2nd gear and reverse. I need to drive it 25miles on country roads to get it to a location were I can fix it. Can it hurt anything if I drive it in limp mode for those 25 miles?

I've driven that far in 2nd after blowing 3rd gear in an s-10 that I had. Shop rebuilt 3rd only and had no ther problems with the truck. Don't drive over 35mph for long and keep an eye on your temps.

She will go into limp mode for protection.
You should pull codes.

Chances are you will come up with Transmission component slipping.
The next likelihood would be one of the ratio errors.
