I was wondering if GM was installing TranSynd as stock fluid in new Allisons. If so when did they start and how can you tell if the fluid is TranSynd or not?
Does the use of TranSynd affect the transmission warranty?
Thanks,
Britt

GM puts in dino tranny fluid in the Allison. Allison (who is owned by GM) recommends Transynd. The warranty question is whether or not GM decides on if the fluid caused the problem or not. Transynd will not hurt the tranny and IMHO it's better than the dino fluid. The dino fluid isn't bad you just need to change it more often. Good luck and welcome aboard.

GM will be using Dex 6 in all the new 6 speeds but this does not mean you should all run out and but it because there are some clutch changes and new stuff in there. We need to find out if this new fluid is compatible with other clutches. TranSynd will not hurt warranty and is the recommended fluid by Allison.

That will be the day when GM puts top-shelf fluid in the Alli.

My information is that my '02 came with a 50/50 mix of Transynd and reg AFT I'm sure as a cost saving for GM! My understanding is 100% synthetic is OK, if not better! I drain and refill with synthetic! Am I right Ally experts?

Mike L. put synthetic in my tranny when he rebuilt it.
