OK, I am gonna buy a long block. I am just gonna break down and get one for the time being in order to get my truck on the road. I am thinking of getting an engine with low compression pistons as an upgrade but would like to know the downside. I have the turbo master (and have a Garrett T04 to make the boost if I need more;) ) but I need to know what is the downside to low comp except long cold hard starting? Is there bad fuel economy, different engine temps, does it mess with the computer . . . . . . ? Please a little input and if you feel like, drop me a reply on who is the trusted supplier for the engine. Tomorrow I am dedicating the day to calling and pricing along with finding other info. Thanks

Some offline trickery? Spill the beans CR! You got something cooking, don'tcha?

Chicago- I went to 18:1 in my engine, but seeing how I only have about 15 minutes of run time total on it, I cant pass judgement yet. So far, I am optimistic. I'll let you know more in a week or so myself.

Here is what I got so far. Penninsular 18:1 optioned out new 2005 block, all new everything inside, short block (as I have brand new GM heads) shipped to my house at $5300.00:o: . That is what I have so far. I do not want to go with the stock 90's block because i am affraid of failure again. Let me know what you think.

Should be stout. Will it have timing gears or a chain? I am sold on the gears myself.

I dunno, what makes you sold on the gears? I think it does come with them.
