I'M STEPPING BACK INTO THE DIESEL MARKET SINCE 1982,WHEN I ORDERED A 6.2 DIESEL (DON't GET ME STARTED I'm LONG WINDED ENOUGH).HAVE BEEN A BIG BLOCK MAN EVER SINCE.MY LATEST ONE IS A '99 3500 SINGLE REARWHEEL 454.I.VE ADDED 3- SPRINGS TO EACH SIDE AND IT STILL SAGS WHEN YOU PUT A MINIMAL LOAD ON IT.
SO, NOW I'm TIRED OF BEING BEHIND THE 8-BALL AND I WANT SOME THING STOUT!!!!! ALTHOUGH BOW TIES FLOW THROUGH MY VEINS I HAVE LOOKED AT THE BLUE OVAL F450-550's?????
WHAT DO I DO,Y'ALL.
I PULL A 34' HOLIDAY RAMBLER FOR FUN AND A 33' GOOSENECK W/ DOVE TAIL FOR MY ANTIQUE TRACTORS.
TARE WEIGHT ON THE CAMPER IS 9500-EMPTY ANT THE GOOSENECK IS AROUND 8500 LBS.I USUALLY HAVE ABOUT 12-18,000 LBS OF TRACTORS.DOES CHEVY/GMC HAVE ANYTHING OUT THERE??????????
THE SUPER DUTIES ARE WEIGHING IN PRETTY HEAVY NOW!
HELP ME , SHOW ME THE LIGHT ! ! I WANT TO STAY W/ GM.
THANKS,
MM

I would strongly suggest you look at the chevy c4500. It is way more truck that the 450/550. Better cab room, better visibility, and built on a chassis that is very strong. I use mine to tow my 40' 5'er. You ought to check one out. Check out the link in the sig for some pics of my rig.

WE GOT SOME EMERGENCY RESPONSE TRUCKS LIKE THE 4500 AND THE GUYS THAT OPERATE THEM SAY THEY'ED RATHER RIDE ONE OF MY STEEL WHEEL TRACTORS(ROUGH RIDE).
AND I'D LIKE A NON-BIASED OPINION, DURAMAX vs POWERSTROKE
NICE PICS!!!!!!!!
THANKS VERY MUCH

I love my Duramax but if i didnt have it i would have one of the older Powerstrokes (the 7.3) I havent heard any horror stories on them but the new 6.0 Powerstrokes have had their problems. A friend of mine has a 99 dually with the 7.3 and has had absolutely no problems with his.

I tow a 48 foot gooser weighing in at 18K and i have NO problems whatsoever, it actually hauls ass and tows great, it barely levels it out

tow bags, springs are ok but get a heavy duty set of bags for the rear, I can raise my fatback 3500 up a total of 3" when towing and have towed some 12-14k loads on the titan hitch. with it.

I have been a Rat lover for years, but that truck is now gone and nearly forgotten. The only one I have now to keep me from going totally into withdrawals is in my boat and at 2 mpg, if I could swap in a Dmax I would do it in a heartbeat.
