This might be a dumb question but do 285's fit through a carwash? I always wash the truck at home for fear of the tires or wheels not fitting.

I would think so. The tracks seem pretty wide at most of them.

You'll fit fine...I had 285s on for a while. The problem I had being a CCLB is that some car washes can't wash the whole truck

Dude! I can so hear that! I fit no problem with 305's but the length is the problem with these stupid car washes. I pay for a whole wash not a half! the length confuses the heck out of the sensors for the soap/rinse/dry. My trucks rolls out the other side with soap all over and chit.

The only time I have had an issue is running a set of 35X16" wide boggers, I made it part way in then became wedged in the tracks, it was quite embarrasing to have to get out of my truck half way into the car wash to lock the hubs in.

My last truck had 35-12.50 R 20 Toyo MT's ......it fit fine in the carwashes. look at it in my garage !

Even the car washes that have the guide rails near the floor, my dually with 255/85/16s can just squeak in, albeit with a bit of rubbing. I would think a single rear axle with 285s should fit ok.

I'll give it a try then. Sometimes it's a lot easier to just run it through a wash then doing it yourself.

I hear ya...that's why I take my beast and wash it myself now. No more half assed car washes haha they can't handle a real truck ;)

I've had 285's on mine for nearly 4 years. I've never had a problem in a car wash. You've got to watch the height clearance in some parking garages though!
