I don't care for Valvoline no real reasons that’s just one of the few oils my dad wouldn't use for whatever reason. A few have posted pos things about Rotella here I would use Delco personally.

I am running the Valvoline Premium Blue. I started running it in mu 03 Dodge and have moved to it in the GMC. No problems in 30,000+ miles between the Dodge and GMC.

My 2 cents, 2nd d/max, same as the first. 130,000 on my 04.5. Analisis at 120,000 showed 0, zip, nada, wear on all checked items & <.06 insoluables, Rotella T & 1 qt Lucas oil stabilizer at each change:exactly: your call!

Chevron Delo400 15w-40 every 5,000 miles for me. All the petroleum based oils are pretty good these days. A lot of the big rig shops use the Delo and those trucks are constantly in boost! Just my .02

Click on the Lucas link in deadfurrow's post and begin to read. Might make you reconsider!? Just use Delo, Rotella, or a synthetic without adding any additives and enjoy your Dmax for 200,000 plus thousand miles.
