how much pressure and does your oil smell like fuel, what kind of truck are we talking about, what year model, what kind of mods if any are on the truck.

Just curious.... in your other thread, you stated you added oil after you saw it leaking from the rear main, but did you even check oil level first?

X2 with Tim. Starting to sound like injectors. Must be high fuel return. That dealer you went to needed to do some more testing before pronouncing them "ok".

I checked the dipstick and it was barely showing ...there was a leak coming from the underside ...I had a quart with me and put it in....all I had ...only had about 5 miles to the shop and parked it ....the dipstick on mine is not really accurate ...have not smelled any fuel in oil ... is dripping underneath...just assuming its the same trouble as my nephews truck....right now we are parked side by side...We are rig welders 24/7 in colorado and are busy right now ...I know I need to get underneath truck and check it out but have been busy with shop work .I know assumptions are good for nothing...I appreciate the responses and will post more when I find out something ...thanks

2002 duramax 3500 with 120000 miles.....started engine ...took oil fill cap off...noticed pressure ...could put hand over it easily ...hard to judge since I've never checked it before...oil pressure gauge is reading 20 at idle ....shut it down......thanks

finally got chance to check leaks out today.I still have blowby pressure from oil filler tube. From under the rear of the engine I have fuel leaking and I also have oil leaking ...stopped truck to see where leak was from ....If I use dye I will put it in fuel first after I drain and refill oil and will check oil to see if fuel is in there and go from there...I am preparing for the worst....thanks .....I have a 2002 duramax 3500 dually that is used in the rockies for rig welding ...I need a truck that is reliable not one with an engine with injectors that might go out at anytime...thanks chevy
