I have my Preditor running on the highest setting. I have an AFE stage 2 intake and stock exhaust. When I stomp on it I get a trail of black smoke that wont stop. Is all the black smoke normal for this power setting? What can be done to fix it?
Thanks,
Aaron

LOL...welcome to diesels bud!

The smoke is a result of the Predator's tuning--obviously. In order to increase power to these levels with a stock turbo, smoke is going to happen because the tuning is essentially calling for so much fueling.

If you don't like smoke, you either need to decrease power or get more air into the engine. The 65 HP Predator setting smokes very little, and the 40 HP setting has virtually no smoke. If you want to continue running big power with no smoke, you'd best get a bigger turbo or two of them. :)

On an important side note: Running a stock transmission on the highest Predator setting will fry your tranny in short order. I'd do some learning and searching before you toast your beautiful new truck.

I know all about the dangers of the high power. No, i'm not going to leave it in this setting. I was just wanting to know about the smoke. I have seen the Edge up high and it does not smoke like this one. A trans. mod is on the list.

My Predator smokes on all levels. Not much difference between power levels .

When it comes to smoke, the 100hp predator program is very interesting all by itself...I love tailgaters now :D
