While away at a horse show this weekend, my "battery not charging" message came on. Based on the way it acted, I'm sure the alternator is gone. (testing tomorrow) Question is, I got the "Range Shift Inhibited" message, and no reverse unless I cycled the shifter. This happened very soon after the discharge condition appeared, are the two related or do I have the worst luck in the world? I drove home by swapping in a fresh set of batteries half way, and right before the batteries went completely dead the first time, all sorts of strange electical things occured. This leads me to believe when I get the batteries charged and a new alternator, that all my tranny woes will go away? Or not??
