Currently I have a K&N Air Intake and I want to swap it for something else.

I have narrowed it down to S&B and Banks

Should a person go with

A. S&B Oiled

B. S&B Dry

C. Banks

All input is appreciated.

Thanks!

You might want to look at Injen's system, they have the BEST FILTER on the market. If not them I'd go with Banks and a scoop.

Let us know what you do.

S&B oiled gets my vote for the best option on the market.

I have a dry filter, I like the fact that I can clean it and re install without having to oil it or needing to buy a new one.

I've been very happy with my S&B.

I have a banks super scoop, but i was wondering about just putting an s&b replacement filter on it. I saw in a mag. that they replacement filters for other intakes.

But is there filter better? which one of there's is best dry? oiled? or paper throw away?

I had narrowed down to the same choices that you did - S&B or Banks. I needed a new filter anyway and the Donaldson is not cheap. S&B is about half the price of the Banks. So I voted with my wallet and got the S&B. For what it is worth, since it is a cold air intake I have been looking at the air temperatures. The stock intake had a 35-40 degree difference in temperature between the temp on my mirror and the intake air temp on my scan gauge going down the highway and about 35-45 sitting at stop lights. The S&B has only been in a couple days and it has a 30-35 degree difference at stop lights and a 20-25 degree difference going down the highway. So the S&B has some improvement in cooling the air.

I have the K & N FIPK system on the ole 02 and I have no complaints at all. Except for the AFE 4" full flow exhaust no other mods. I see EGT run 600 to 800 empty & normal highway driving. Just pulled a 9K boat back from N. Alabama and EGT's ran 1000 to 1100 (peaked @ 1200 a couple of times but I had my foot in it!!!) Overall I'm happy with this set up.
