okay guys i got a fix it ticket coming up i gotta pass. i have already added my cat and it cut noise in half but i think some tune tinkering would do wonders. maybe close up turbo and mess with timing. also i wanna move redline lower causing less noise how should i do this thanks

Maybe don't lip off the cops in town so much when u get pulled over for driving like an idiot and you wont get these tickits :P And yes close up the vains for quieter tone at idle and low crusing rpms and why would you need to lower the red line? Maybe because to pass the fix it ticket they have someone floor it up to redline and measure the sound level. So lower redline = easier to pass. They won't know the difference, so just set it to 2000 RPM or some crap, pull fueling like crazy, pass the test. Once it's signed off, twist the DSP5 and go for it!

I have had 2 exhaust tickets in this town when i was younger with my old 1998 chevy that was streight piped with headers. All the cops made me do was get a muffler put on and pay the ticket. Since i got my duramax and 6.5 i had no problems with the cops. I know this guy personaly and know how he drives and the reason the cops go after him is caues he lipps them off and has alot of little man syndrome. Im not sure if they are doing a sound test. It really wouldent suprise me if he pissed them off that much. same with all my buddys we just had to pay the tickets and it was all good

Back when I was in Arizona, every noise ordinance violation required a decibel-level test, no matter what. They don't care how you make it pass, as long as it passes. I just assumed he had to pass the same sort of thing, and didn't want to put a muffler on (cost, time, etc.).

You guys are lucky...in Idaho if you catch a cop on a bad day, and your exhaust is something other than stock you get a ticket...and will continue to get them until you get a stock or stock-approved exhaust system. Its bullshit if you ask me...but it is indeed in the Idaho code.

That is one of the things I love about being in the country, no one cares what you do for the most part. I even took the exhaust off my old truck entirely and drove it around to see what it sounded like. It was loud as h311, scared a crapload of cows :D, but no one complained. Gotta love the country!

lol, yeah, we have a town like that here: Gridley, CA. The cops all have an attitude, it's ridiculous. The worst part is Girdley has the cheapest gas by like 10 cents a gallon, so I can't help but go there...

You could always do what I do: when I see a cop, I immediately pull into the first driveway/business/pullout I see, and pretend to make a phone call. Works every time, 60% of the time :D

I live out in the country to and its awesome i never want to go back! And your right cole i apoligize. Im just going with what i have been told by the cops about you. Yes i am friends with some of them. And the fact when your neighbors come to your parents house to tell you to slow down and you tell them to ****** off and pipe out there house harder even next time you go by and the kids are playing in the yard shows the respect you show lol. Again im sorry. Thats crazy how they made you pass a sound test!! Did you half to go to a shop? Or did the cops have somthing at the station? Chad mcissiacs truck was so loud it made our duramaxes sound like tonka toys and they just made him put mufflers on and gave him an exhaust ticket. I was suprised they let him go with the tinted windows to hey? I know u faught the ticket in court i seen your name on the list the day i went to pay my fines. Or u just paid it that day i donno lol
