I had a 2000 SLT EC 1500 that was too soft stock and when I added a Rancho 4 inch and 33x12.50x16.5's to it the ride was perfect for me. I just picked up a DMax 2500HD CC SB and it is rougher than what I had and I understand that's as it should be. My options for lifting it are the RCD 6" with rear springs instead of blocks or the 8" Fabtech with blocks or I could do springs with it as well. I will be running Toyo or Nitto 35's on Weld 20x10 wheels. Is there anyone that can take what I have said here and give me an idea of what to expect from my options? I have heard that taking the 8" and dialing it down will give me a smoother ride than the 6". My problem is I really didn't want the truck much over 6" as it makes it harder for family to gain access. This truck will pretty much be a daily driver with little towing and no hard off roading. (unless the situation requires which will be rarely) It will have to outgun other diesels so it will see it's work in that respect. ;) Thanks in advance for any ideas and help.

the rancho is out if you use 10" wheels. you need at least 6". Did one fabtech 6", relatively straightforward but you may have to use drift to line up subframe to existing truck frame mounts

If you only want 35s get the rcd. It will ride excellent with the bilstiens, and have plenty of clearance for 35s without being cranked up any higher than 6.

i have the cognito 7-9 and am very happy with the lift, i cleared 36's like nothing, and i think 35's would also look good on there, and its a very strong kit imo

I have a 6" Fabtech with a rear spring lift (no blocks). I run 35" Toyo M/T on 20x10 Weld Renegade EVOs. I do not have dual shocks in the front (yet). I had my tbars cranked (bad idea for drag racing), and now have the axle to fender height exactly 6" above a stock truck.
I also re-geared to 4.10s. I wanted a little steeper gear like 4.30s but they aren't available and 4.56 would have been too steep.
All I can say is that the truck is great. It rides MUCH better than stock. There is no "kick" in your back when going over expansion joints. I am amazed that the truck rides better than stock like this.
Who knows what load capacity the truck has now. I do no 5th or gooseneck towing. I will never put a camper on it. I tow a boat and a 25 ft car hauler. It does fine with those.
Good luck. Feel free to pm me with any questions.

Any pics Gasman? I wanted the Velocity 8's or Renegades until I saw the price.  I will be going with the Rubicon series Volt 8's as they are closet in look for a "reasonable" price. I wasn't thinking about the Fab 6" because I didn't think the accesories would work with it. What do you have to do to add the shock hoops and will the steering add-on work as well? Thanks for your input.
