I currently have a Cobra hand held digital CB and a through the glass, cell phone look alike, CB Antenna mounted on my back window. To be blunt, the reception sucks. I have talked to a few local CB junkies and say I need to get rid of the antenna and put on different style of antenna that tunable. Problem is, all the tunable ones, at least the ones I found, are those huge magnetic mounted antennas. I like the clean look of the small glass mounted antenna. Is there any compromise here??

Take a look at Wilsons Little Will antenna. Still a mag mount but much smaller than most other antennas, K40's are also nice and you can quick release the whip and put it behind the seat if you dont want it. With antennas, bigger is better most times. Cheers Mike N9XLZ

There is a bracket that allows you to put a Firestik antenna on the drivers side at the same place the am/fm radio antenna is. There is a theory that it won't work on the 05's but I have checked it out and I am 99.9999% sure it will work. I will try to prove that theory this week if everything falls into place! Do a search for antenna bracket and you should find something.

Why go with k40? Wilsons are pretty good, but I would have the radio peaked and tuned as well as getting a better antenna.
