It seems that GM is offering the Duramax in a downrated version with the Hdyramatic trans for 06. I wonder if it is coming in the Suburban soon???

Also a new trans fluid for the Hydramatic trans for 06. I wonder if it will be compatible for use in the Allision trans or earlier Hydramatics. I can see some disasters ahead if it is not. Some jerk in a service bay doing lubes, etc will put the wrong fluid in someones trans and cause a problem.

Good observation on the fluid Tom. The wrong fluid will waste an Ally or any trans for that matter if not compatible.

Yeah i was reading on light and medium duty truck magazine about the vans comming with duramax also had info on the 06 trucks comming with 6 spd ally with 2 shifting modes auto or a manual push button shifting on the column shifter also talked like there might be some rear end options
