HAS ANYONE HAD THE THERE WHEEL'S, SHAFT, AND BEARINGS REM FINISHED? I JUST HAD MY BEARINGS, AND RING AND PINION DONE IN MY FRONT DIFF. THE GUY WHO BUILT IT SAID THAT DOING THE TURBO REALLY MAKES A DIIFERANCE IN EFFICIENCY. THE EXAMPLE HE GAVE ME WAS: IN A POWERSTOKE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AT 55 MPH, THE BOOST WAS 2-3 PSI. AFTER REM, AT THE SAME SPEED THE BOOST WAS 5-7 PSI. THE EXTRA PSI WAS GENERATED BY CONSIDERABLELY LESS FRICTION. I'M THINKING ABOUT IT, THE PRICE ISN'T TOO BAD BUT I HAVE TO TAKE THE TURBO OUT MYSELF. I DON'T KNOW HOW LONG THIS TAKES, GUESSING A GOOD HALF DAY? IF YOU THINK A BRAND NEW BEARING SPINS LIKE GLASS, TRY ONE THAT IS REM FINISHED.HERE IS A LINK TO SOME INFO. http://www.remchem.com/

Don't know anything about it, but it seems to make sense, possibly better fuel mileage out of it anyway.

Sounds like he wants to REMove the contents of your wallet.
More boost is not necessarily more air. Sometimes more boost=the same volume of air at a higher temperature. The friction in our bearings is NOT an impediment to the turbo's efficiency. Efficiency is due to turbine and compressor design. Be careful, smells alot like snake oil.

If it Smells like Snake Oil.....Well . ):h

Please don't Drink the Snake Oil. -:t

The differance I felt in a standard taper roller bearing, was amazing. Which makes me believe the little bit a friction savings, when spinning 100,000+ rpms could be big. This process is huge in racing, everything from circle track to truck pulling. I too thought this was probally a money making skeem, until I did some reading on it.

So what is the cost of it? Would it be cost effective to do this? If it is really expensive I would just get an ATS turbo.

If the bearings and shaft are flat and clean as in normal non-scarred condition, the shaft rides on oil film and doesn't touch the bearings anyway. Tapering or about anything other than factory flat will over pressure compression seals on both ends. Smooth polish wheels and good balancing are good things, but .5psi gain or so at 30psi is spendy for ?, and coatings are too usually too heavy. Get an ATS or whatever turbo, tho I'm still not getting the looping out of LLY VVT signals with no SES codes and light. Anyone ATS an LLY with no codes yet?...T
