This is my second diesel truck but my first duramax. It's a 2005 4x4 crew cab stock except for the superchip. I have nothing to compare it to but it's extremly strong. I set it in the performance tow mode and was a big improvement over stock. I am sure there are higher power tuners but this installed in minutes and had great performance. It drove great under normal driving. I haven't pulled yet but I suspect the same results. So if you want a nice program at a minimal cost ($309). Try superchips. They claim you will not limp the transmission or over heat the turbo that was my deciding factor. Also there are no results it was ever there when removed. :cool2:The dealer has no idea. But you must drive it to erase the memory prior to taking it in.

Where can you get Superchips for $309? I am buying one this week but they are $399-$465 all the places I have found them. LMK later Clint

There is a guy on ebay that is selling them for $200(buy it now). He has one selling every day or two. He advertises them as used but the one I bought looked brand new in the box with all documentation. I think his user name is dtaws or somthing like that. I got it for 213 shipped. Fast shipping, paypal.

I just got mine a couple weeks ago and have been running it around town in high performance. It is a huge improvement over stock. The HP mode definetly smokes alot compared to performance tow, but I like that. It is also noticabley noisier on HP mode. I'm planning on deleting the cat soon too just so I don't worry about high egt's.

I seriously doubt their claim that it will not limp the trans or fry the turbo. No tuners I know of back off due to high egt's or slip. Also, there is no way the tune can know what the egt's are.
I recommend you get an egt gauge and monitor it. I think you will be surprised at how quickly and how high the egt's can get - especially if you have the cat and stock exhaust.
I don't think any tuners are detectable by the dealer. Some people have said they are but I doubt it. Also, you don't erase the memory, you replace the stock tune which is saved in the tuner.

The hypertech will not do it. You will need something else to raise the speed limiter.

It should do speed limiter on all LLY's.The early LB7 did not do limiter.Did you go into option list or just program.Watch buying on Ebay Superchips will not update or waranty without reciept of superchips authorized dealer. You must be the original owner and the bar code on the box is monitored closely by superchips and they know which warehouse or dealer purchased it from them. Beware
