Yesterday went to hook up camper for camping ......And did'nt start been running fine since I installed lift pump. The primer button on top of filter head will not stay hard.......gets hard with lift pump running and will eventually start and stay running., Till I shut pump down then 10-15 seconds later DIES. Took apart head and replaced all O-rings with new from hardware store except the two on plastic inside pump houseing that the metal hull that rides over plastic shaft with the Two Funny rubber U-shaped O-rings.
Any thoughts here I think i will order the kit from DMAX Store but I did'nt see the two funny shaped ones
The fuel is definatly leaking from under the metal cup with the spring in it, when i turn lift pump on to start truck.
Truck turns over extremly faster than before till it gets fuel. Then sounds my normal, Useually starts after about 3-4 cranks of the starter....I never had to leave key cranked while the filter primed before.
Stealer quoted me 530 for the filter head WTF IS THAT ABOUT I thought maybe 100 not a freaking Engagement ring;).

HELP and Thanks for looking and suggestions. Dead in the water so to speak

since 3 and I think the problem is the filter head. maybe the two O-rings on the inside plastic pump shaft.
1... Were to get the two U-shaped O-rings?
2... Who sells the filter head for a decent price (freakin Stealers quote 530)
Not in my Lifetime.
On to the cause of said problem......The Filter Head......Has anybody thought about this problem being the excessive pressure from installing aftermarket lift Pumps? I did not see anything mentioned in three hours of searching. It seems very plausible the pressure finds the weak link in the filter heads design. I know that their is sever problem, hence so many posts on the subject. Well then.. A little jingle to start your day in the tune of
Its PIRATES LIFE for me
... Its A Filter Head for me..
Yo-Ho..Yo-Ho..Its a day in the life.. of a diesel truck for me...
If you wanna play...your gonna pay...in the day of a Diesel truck for me

I have removed the Filter head and Spliced in a relief valve from existing hoses . took two tries to remove air and good to go.........Will idol without pump running and run ....but seems like its not getting enough gas as it surges like before I replaced the FPR.and worse......When pump is on I can hammer it and runs like a raped Ape..................So lets here your thoughts
Is a CP3 in my near future or what I'll check my rail pressures in a bit while I search some posts.
Ps. When I started up an incline with pump off she stalled out...Pump baack on started right up.

Well I have found a Quik connect fitting above the fuel cooler from the tank to the first frame rail hard line that is leaking like a sive after my trip around the block... I just can't get a break with this fuel system leaking air. I have taken the O-rings out of it and will try Napa in am for replacements have to be good ones to withstand the diesel fuel, nobody has a 1/2 inch quick-connect ( o'rielly/ autozone/advance) unreal........
Will try again tomorrow.:(
