Had mine over 1 year now - no bad, Tows like a brute. I pull a 10,000 lb 5th over some crazy grades to go pretty much anywhere from where I live and it cruises up with loads of pedal left. Leaving it stock is a fine plan. VERY happy with my ride. Only issue was a leaky water pump gasket, pump and gasket replaced under warranty @3 months- not a problem since. Seem to be no real common issues with this MY. There are things guys bitch about but you can flaws with anything if you look hard enough.

Only 8k miles on my 09 ccsb ltz, and i love it. I did have an issue with nonresponsive seat controls off the lot, but a controller reflash solved that in about 2 min. :)

It's exactly the same truck that you have now only with the new body, interior and particulate filter. Power is nearly identical, towing capacity and feel are identical.

The biggest gripe guys have going to the LMM is the reduced mileage from the DPF which isn't as bad as everyone thinks. Some guys also notice that the LMM doesn't feel as responsive, I believe this is from the tune that tries to reduce soot as to not fill up the DPF as fast. So when you stomp down on it it ramps up the fuel slowly as the turbo comes in instead of just dropping in the fuel and making smoke like the LBZ and other models do.

If you start a "My mileage is bad, what's wrong with my truck" thread I'll beat you with your own radiator hose......I mean it.....we have plenty of those threads already. ;)

Lmm Vs Lbz Lmm Does Not Hold A Candle In The Wind Compared To The Lbz I Have Had Both And The Emissions On The Lmm Sucks. Fuel Mileage 11.1 Mpg No Matter How I Drive Sheet Metal Is Very Flimsy Interior Dashboard Is Very Had To Clean. If I Had To Do It All Over I Would Have Kept My Lbz No Questions Asked.

It's a cab n chassis used for oilfield trucking, lets see, turbo going out, head gaskets going , rear end humming, front end need total replacement, trans starting to slip, etc, so it was time to go 240K miles and 5800 hours on engine, just to much money to sink into a 3 year old truck with that many miles, so i'll see if this one can last that long, was looking at DODGE for the wieht and bed length but still hear too many complaints about the asian trans, believe me I put that truck through HELL AND BACK so lets see what the 2009 can do if not waiting to see how FORDS new catailler engineworks out.

I'm guess you're in the hotshot buisness, the guys like Dutchpilot that take care of their trucks run em forever and don't seem to have any major problems. Long stretches on the highway seem to be easier on the trucks and the DPF in particular than short around town trips that most of the guys on this board do.

Any way you look at it, at 100,000 miles you can drop the DPF and add a mild tune and make the new truck identical to the old truck.

I hope the hotshot buisness is picking up for you, I've probably spent a couple hundred grand on hot shot shipping in the last few months on my current project. Lots of fittings being shipped out of your neck of the woods to the northeast with expansion of the marcelus shale gas.

2009 CC 4x4 Dually, still under 10K miles, hasn't been back to the dealer for any work. Mileage is acceptable even when pulling 16-18K toy hauler, no black smoke, totally stock. Will be installing the Banks Speed Brake soon and would consider a trade to the 2011 (LML) if I didn't have to put up too much coin. Enjoy your truck it should be just fine.

I love my 09 LMM. No real issues. Just to set the record straight on fuel mileage, I get 19-20 empty, 11-12 towing, 15-16 in city driving. I have recorded every gallon of diesel pumped in my truck and lifetime cummulative average is 16.47 MPG in just over 14K miles. The DPF issue is quite possibly the most overblown nonissue I've come across in a long time. Regens occur once per tank and use about 0.75 gallon.
This truck so far has been everything I hoped it would be.

My 2009 LMM is Awesome! Coming off the 02 7.3l Ford Super Duty and I'd have to say that the GM is very impressive and I have zero complaints in 12k miles....beautiful truck.

Yes they do, company I work for has a fleet of 50 or so most Dmax but now they buying F550s. They barely get the oil changed and some have over 300k on them. Some have had NOTHING done in 300k other have all sorts of issues. I was riding in a 06 z71 with a 5.3 the other day, they were taking me to the airport. Truck had 450k on it and still on original motor and trans. Ran like a top!

The new ford motor is not a catapillar engine in fact cat has pulled out of the on road diesel market altogether
