Anyone running PPE level 1?
How do you like it? How does the small HP/torque increase feel, does it come only at higher RPM or is it throughout the rpm range?
Any comments useful , thanks.

Level 1 and 2 are plenty trans safe but don't show much in the way of MPG gains. The power of level one is all but unnoticable. Level 2 does give a more seat of the pants gains but they are small.
IMO if you are running slightly larger tires and want to make up the loss in performance or have done a DPF delete level 1 & 2 are for you. I have been running level 2 for quite a while and am very satisfied with what it does.

I would think with a DPF delete strait pipe/level 1 you should see a 2-4 MPG increase no?

:D Here we go... WELLLLL Lmm's are all over the place when it comes to mileage. I only ran level 1 for a few weeks before going to level 2 so I can't give any real feedback on the mileage just the power. I am only seeing small gains in MPG's with level 2 and all mods listed but MPG's are not the primary reason I did the delete anyway (I am fond of saying it's a 7600lb truck, not a Honda Civic). PPE says the higher the tune the better the mileage (don't know the technical reason why). 4 MPG increase is a lot to expect and 2 is common-ish.
I do think LMM's get better as they get broken in but where that mark is varies quiet a bit from truck to truck.

I am just curious why you would pay for a PPE and run it on level 1, especially if you are keeping your dpf. PPE is made for power and if you just want some mild power there are other more cost effective ways of gaining that. If you do decide to dump the DPF I hope you have a tuner capable of the delete tunes...Not knocking on ya, just not understanding what you are trying to do really.

No need to not, not be knoking on me anyways. I have every intention of DPF delete (that goes without saying I thought).
The reason I want a level 1 PPE is only for DPF /cat /EGR delete. I don't want above stock HP because it can put wear and tear on these engines, I don't need the power but I want to hear the power it already has. That's all.
from research it looks like a PPE level 1 is the way to go, EFI live looks to be kind of a complex mess, no one in this area deals EFI live.

I think you'll need the PPE Hot+2 Race in order to run your truck without the DPF.

Oh, really?? No problem, I'll run the Race one on level 1 then. They both are a 40 hp I think

This is prolly why Bartman was saying that. PPE does make 2 tuners capable of dpf delete though I believe. He is just letting you know that you may not be able to delete your DPF with your current tuner because you stated you were going to delete it.

:duh:Ok, yah, I'm confusing and confused at the same time.
So, which PPE tuners can DPF/ EGR and cat delete? It doesn't say on their website.

I ran level one for maybe a few weeks, then I decided to try level 2 and the rest is history
