The ol Burbon still don't like this South Georgia heat. It's got to be the IP. Luckally for me I found a local mechanic to replace it for $200. He's got 8 years more experience than me working on diesels, since I have none. He charges $20 an hour! At that price I can't aford to fix it myself.

Just lettin y'all know if you can't find the time, it will hardly cost ya dime down here in S.GA. Life is good. Lets just hope this fixes the problem.;)

yea hope it was the problem.. if this guy is a good wrench on diesels it must be what he says....:)...i charge 40.00 a hour if and when i do work on customers rigs so your getting a good price labor wise..but i also have 40yrs as a mechanic...35 on mostly diesels

Yes he is a good mechanic. I'm lucky I met him before he knows it. But $40 an hour is still a great price. I'm not sure what a certified diesel mechanic would charge, but when I called the only one in my town he told me not to put in the glow plug over rider. At that point I knew he didn't want my buisness. As most everyone on this sight has done it. The way I see it it by passes possible bugs. I guess I'd rather rely on experience even if it is not my own.

well on the glow plugs i agree not to bypass the controller..i personally like them "mine have always worked"... if you use a start button and someone not familiar with the system tries to start your truck it could cause glow plug failure...but its the owner's call

Gotcha, That makes good sence. Kinda like "it if aint broke don't fix it". But when the system does go bad it's the cheap easy way out plus starts better on those cold morinings. It gives you more control over the perforance of the vehical. instead of relying on sensers and gismoes to tell ya when its good.

Got my truck back today. it runs like new again. The rebuilt IP was the cure. If anyone brakes down around Brunswick, GA you are in good hands. I have a new friend that runs a shop. He is very knowledgeable and inxpensive.

By the way I would like to give a shout out to all our vets. THANK YOU THIS DAY IS FOR YOU GOD BLESS YA!!!!!!!!!!
