I just found three big F@%#ing paint chips on the side of my truck, does any body have any good methods of repairing them short of using a blob of touch up paint that just stands out and says,"I KNOW YOU TRIED BUT IM STILL HERE" and when any body else looks at it they say, I CANT SEE IT< WHEN IN ALL REALITY THE STARE RIGHT AT IT>
How big are your chips? This is what I have done:
If smaller than a dime, go ahead and use the blob; let it dry and cure completely, then use some 800 grit paper and lightly sand it smooth (be careful not to touch the surrounding clear coat paint). Then use a little fine rubbing compound (your choice - most work well) and buff it into the surrounding paint. Most of the time, you can't see it afterwards unless you know where to look.
I have done this many times, and it beats the price of paying a paint shop to do it.

Do a seach on paint or chips. There is a company out there that makes a kit that fills in the chip with paint and "levels off" the buble so you cannot see it. I can't remember the company name. You might need to look in the old forum.

Also try doing a search on "langka" on this site. There have been several posts.
