I'm flattered:o:

Just don't blame anything on me ):h

It's a different breed of truck. Enjoy and get some pictures up.

Mac.... beat it. Still listening to Broker, eh?

Tranny is fine. It just doesn't like to do burnouts. It won't load up the engine to build boost. I believe there is some clutch slippage in first or it's just the inefficient TC. Other than that and the 500 hp on the input side it's been perfect. You know better. Tell us about your holeshot experience :muahaha:

I did the same thing Coalbucket.. I bought the 180 hot juice and the tranny didn't like it much.. Also had problems with the monitor.. I had TS program a ramifier for mileage and this truck is impressing me a lot more.. The ramifier the sent me doesn't make it much faster, though the mileage went up a lot.. My overhead monitor used to say 12 to 15 in town, around 18 running 70 mph.. Now it shows 17-20 in town, and 22-23 on the interstate doin 70.. Very impressed.. If you get down on it, it drops quick.. I've just been babying it to see what kind of mileage it'll get.. The tranny won't do what the allison will.. I like everything else though..

PSD, Dmax, or Cummins if you have ANY fueling mods your overhead will probably be off. It usually will read way high since your using less pedal to put out the same power (fuel). Try a calculation by hand before you get your hopes up.

I had a turbo go. Engine ran away and finally got it shutdown, but not before the oil pressure had fell to nothing. Figured it needed another home.

Man, that sucks.. I was soooo impressed with the mileage.. I had the duramaximizer and it didn't change the overhead reading.. To be honest, it didn't do much of anything other than make smoke and heat.. I'll hand check this thing.. Although now, I'm scared to do so..

Buchshotmckee Just so you know the cummins is considered a med duty diesel engine.Your duramax and a psd are considered light duty diesel engines. Oh and your 29mpg only thing i can say is ya right lmao.

I know cummins is a med duty diesel. And why can't you believe 29mpg? I'm not the only one that has seen the high 20s on fuel mileage. I guess you don't believe people get a million miles out of these Cummins either? Calm down buddy.

If you don't believe or haven't seen something, that doesn't mean it's not true.. The forum is no place for rude comments.. Try some mods on your truck, and you'll see results that aren't normal to others..

...... And the engine is only as strong as the truck you put it in, so this means the DMAX is a million times stronger than the Cummins ever will be!!:ro) :joke:

Post some pics when you have a chance!!

Take care,

Will

Hoot isn't alone. I traded in my '95 C3500 Xcab dually yesterday on a '05 2500 SLT Big Horn QC LB 4x4. Got $100.00 over KBB trade in and $4k off EP per the invoice. So I guess :iamwithst :p:

at least u get a full tubular frame with the ram and u can get 4.10 gears with the cummins and a 4 in stainless exhaust and a beefed up front end and bigger tires 235 80 17s . if u tow heavy with a gm 3500 your truck wont last the c frame flexes too much and the brakes will keep on leaking by the master cylander and break booster causing your breaks to wear out unevenly and the 3.73 will run hot and blow seals and bearings ,if your using your gm for light towing, it will hold up, thats all it can handle with the long wheel base . crew cab long box dually ,i had no problems with the allison the d max was starting to loose oil pressure . i bought the truck new in 11 months put 25000 on it , the service dep couldnt solve any of the problems so i got rid of it and bought a new ram dually what a difference . this is a truck , everybody likes this truck better than the gm .

I'd have more faith in what you're saying if it were semi-coherent.

Uh Ace (or is that spelled differently?)...

Why would you want 4.10's in a diesel? What, you don't have enough power in 1st???
I guess if you want to drive 50mph it would be swell, but at 65-75 you'll be spinning the crap out it for no reason.

And your comedy routine that the Dodge has a stronger frame than a GM is a riot. If you are breaking GM frames, just wait until you load that Dodge.

I don't tow for a living, but do tow regularly......and I don't mean no 10-12K RV. The max to date as been slightly over 40K#, i.e., T/T/load. Now I won't tell you a lie......I DEFINATELY knew I had a load....but the flimsy frame and drivetrain handled it well. I tow 28-30K# regularly. My truck is bone stock, with NO problems.....other that the infamous clutch/DMFW. I had a '96 Dodge Cummins.....it was a good, strong engine......BUT the DMax is way ahead on pulling. And no, I have not driven the new Cummins.:D
