Posted this in Exhaust section too but looking for some quick help this morning before I start tearing the truck apart..

Hey guys I just installed a Banks cat back system and my EGT's went up like 200 degrees cruising on the freeway (right at 1000 now) and I can get the EGT's up to 1400:eek: when I stomp on it. I never got it above 1200 with the stock exhaust on there and saw below 800 just cruising.

Any ideas????? I was expecting the EGT to go down with the supposed better flow.

Here's a pic:http://www.hotboatpics.com/pics/data/500/5495rear_shocks-med.JPG

It shows how we dumped the exhaust to miss the shocks.

Anyway the kit looks clean, nice mandrel bends, no obvious blockage. COuld the muffler be restricting the flow enough to cause the high EGT's or am I missing something.

I'm going to pull the muffler completely and see if that helps, just as a test but I'm completely stumped.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Chris
