Hey,
Well I'm new to this site, I could use some info. I was looking at going to a 3500 from my 2500. The reason for this is towing, I watned more. I found out that the towing limits were the same for the 2500HD and the 3500. Is this so? The 3500 has a bigger payload, 1500 more than the 2500HD. So if this is the case then I have know reason to move up????? Let me know if you have any other info.:help:

The payload capacity is superior but the combined gross vehicule weight is the same as the 2500HD. Beside more stability and kingpin capacity you lose a few hundred pounds of towing capacity because of the added weight of the dual axel.

I haul heavy and very often with two trailers back to back. I can't say that I feel unsafe in my 2500HD. Look at my website for some photos.

My main reason for choosing a 2500HD over a 3500 was the size. The 3500 was simply too big to work on my land and in the woods. I would have destroyed those rear fenders in no time.

If you don't need the payload stick with the 2500HD. Its a lot cheaper to keep in rubber annd rides little better. Easier to manuver around to, no fenders to knock off.
