: Who plans to get a new 2011 LML?
bobbss 05-21-2010, 02:31 PM Was wondering how many other people plan to get a 2011 LML as soon as the truck they want is available. That is my plan right now.I hate doing it that way because I'm sure it will be hard to get as good of a deal, but I was really ready for a new truck a few months ago and have been holding out for a LML.
transferred 05-21-2010, 05:04 PM I'll be returning to the GM fold in 2011....they hit a home run with these new rigs...only thing I wish they offered was a wide track front end but the new trucks get a 9/10 for me...9.5 if they'd redone the interior even though the LMM's is nice....

mx2702001 05-22-2010, 11:08 AM Once i get a good look at 1 then i will jump on the wagon again and buy but might have to look at the other brands too this time lots of good options out there
LMMKING 05-22-2010, 02:47 PM I don't need one cause my LMM only has 30K on it and is set up the way I want it. I have a feeling when I see them on the lot I will get the itch and have to have it.
8100 Power 05-22-2010, 03:48 PM Anyone know when they are hitting the lots? I'm planning on one as soon as there out.
RINGNEKS 05-22-2010, 04:35 PM I heard they will hit the lots in July. I will be getting one.
trophyfish58 05-22-2010, 04:43 PM I plan on getting one, but will wait untill just before the 2012's arrive, after they have been out for about a year, get a feel for any problems & updates that are lurking, & someone to do a independent test against the competition {ford}. If all sounds good, hoping for a better deal just before the 2012 arrive.
Ted308 05-23-2010, 09:35 AM I ordered mine, drove a ford and dodge just in case, the new ford has a lot of power and is a good driving truck, just no way I could own one. Not only that f350 king ranch was 71 out the door, that's crazy! They told me flat out no deals the price is the price. Dodge have really come a long way with interior and ride but did not like the power I think 6.7 sux!

I drive by a couple of Ford lots regularly. They still have LOTS of the 2010's on the lots. So many I haven't even seen a 2011 on either lot yet passing by. I have seen a couple on the road though.
I'm guessing most dealers aren't gonna deal much on the new the 11's until most of the 10's are gone.
I'd guess GM lots are gonna be the same when the 11's start rolling out.
towdog333 05-23-2010, 03:11 PM I know GM canceled the 1/2 ton small block D MAX , still hoping they change their mind and produce it which I think would be a big winner
fedup 05-23-2010, 04:47 PM Ill get one, need to put 30000 more on mine or get close to 100k. dont know if ill get one before end of this year or wait till next year. I really like the one I have and am in no hurry.
TrevorD 05-24-2010, 12:09 AM I was saying that I'll wait for the 2012 model, but all of this talk has me itching. My friends and I will be shocked if I don't have one by the end of the summer. :)
bobbss 05-24-2010, 03:40 PM Not as many people as I thought (I was worried everyone would want one NOW and make it harder to find one:D) and there is another thread about production started on time today so maybe it won't take the dealer to long to find me one.I'm hoping for a black 3500 srw cc long bed 4X4 ltz.I would get a dually but I think it would get to be a pain in the azz to drive every day,and it would be hard to justify the poor mpg daily,to tow a 10,000 pound trailer 5-10 times a year.If we get a bigger trailer latter on down the road and this isn't enough truck,it will make it easier to justify another new truck to the wife:cool:.I would think this new truck should tow alot better than my old one anyway.
TAYLORJ814 05-24-2010, 05:53 PM Im Just Curious, Whats The Secret To Affording One Of These New Trucks. I Make Decent $ But 1000/month Truck Payment. I Must Be Missing Something.
RINGNEKS 05-24-2010, 06:38 PM I owe just over 18,500 on my 08' with 20,000 miles on it so I'm pretty sure I won't have a 1000 dollar a month payment. Unless they go up drastically in price which I heard only around a 500 dollar increase.
wingnut96 05-24-2010, 06:51 PM I plan on getting one, but will wait untill just before the 2012's arrive, after they have been out for about a year, get a feel for any problems & updates that are lurking, & someone to do a independent test against the competition {ford}. Same here. I can't see Dodge letting this hp/tq war go by without stepping up. But my 05 LLY only has like 24,000 on her and I only get to drive on vacations to the US. No need letting another new one sit in storage.
wkgordon 05-24-2010, 08:19 PM Got a 2011, 3500 SRW on order. Came here to see if you guys new when they would be in production. Dealer don't seem to know.

Flint Michigan plant went into full production today on crew cab and reg cab models. Ext cabs won't start production for another month or so. Dealerships should start seeing inventory in a few weeks.
TrevorD 05-24-2010, 09:48 PM No $1,000/mo. paument here either. I have some equity in my '08, and I will put some down.
bobbss 05-24-2010, 11:05 PM My 04 is paid for,so I hope it will be enough trade in to keep it well under $1,000.00 a month.
I'm getting one. Oh boy here we go again.

Haven't heard anyone comment on the Urea system. Any concerns over the first generation of that system? I too think I'll will wait.
ryanryan 05-25-2010, 02:52 AM I'm starting to seriously consider getting a new truck. I think I'll wait until the fall though. That way I have a bit of time to see if there are any bugs with the new trucks, and the prices should come down a little bit. Probably looking at the same exact truck(CCLB, Dually, 4x4, Black, etc.), hopefully an LTZ this time around though.

We'll see what it brings and how it really works. I feel like this new model was more thought out than when the LMM and first DPF setup was released. GM is well aware of people's concerns, and I'm personally willing to take the chance on them. I've had first-year models on other GM cars in the past without any major issues. If worst comes to worst and the system really sucks and has issues, it won't be long before the aftermarket gives us options. :) GM is making big claims with respect to pulling capability, power, and increases in fuel economy. My '09 Caddy CTS-V was marketed with big claims, too, and it's nothing short of badass. I realize that it doesn't have a DEF system, but it was a complete change on a new model. I'm gonna have enough faith that GM did their job, so long as dealers don't try to act like idiots like they still do with the year-old 2010 Camaro!

I haven't heard anyone say they just wouldn't have a lb7 or any other Duramax,so I'm not too worried.I think I should be getting a certificate or whatever it is,from a guy in my vette club. That will get me supplier cost or something like that,so I think that should keep them from being able to jack me around on price.I HOPE!lol
Vertexrex 05-26-2010, 03:56 PM I want to order a new one, crew cab rwd, but dealer keeps telling me that they cannot get into the system yet to order what I want....I have been bugging him every day for the last two weeks!!! I see and have driven the 2011 Ford diesel and they have 3 on the lot similar to what I would want and they are offering some nice incentives. They also have 2 leftover 2010s and are incenting those with $6000 off sticker. I am getting irritated with GM!
Ted308 05-26-2010, 05:10 PM I talked to a buddy who owns a dealership and he said that the should but able to send out orders tomorrow. Should find out soon enough, the lady I order it from said she would call me with a production date when she got one so that I can have time to strip my lly and sell it!

You would think GM would have pricing and building info on their website now that their building them.It is getting alittle old for them not giving info.I wouldn't blame someone for wanting to try a 2011 Ford but I would rather wait as long as it takes and pay another $6,000.00,than get a 2010 Ford.

I think the ford is a bit more expensive then the chevy at least from what I have done. The guy at ford here basically told me the price is the price we are not dealing. f30 single wheel lariat sun roof all that just not a king ranch was 67,000 out the door! The Chevy is suppose to be around 62 out the door, not a lot of difference but money saved. The stupid thing didnt even have an exhaust brake.

That's good news. I just relayed that info to my dealer and he said he would see if they could get access to the system tomorrow morning and let me know if they can order what I already requested. They also know they have at least one diesel allocated to them and not yet sold that is supposed to arrive in two weeks but they don't know any of the details so I can't buy that one either.
cdn111 05-26-2010, 05:46 PM dont know what your dealers are talking about..They can order just not give you a price. They have been able to for a few weeks now. These are starting to get built this week so look for them to start hitting the lots the first part of june

The dealer can accept the order no problem they took mine a couple weeks ago, but that's just to keep people satisfied never say no to a buying customer. The dealerships can allocate but not put custom orders into the plant yet, that's why I couldn't get a production date yet, see what happens tomorrow.

I really like the looks of the new chevy and would like to have a new one, but no thanks to having a truck payment again.
Ted308 05-26-2010, 11:27 PM Nice I guess there is another reason for me to say only in laredo!!
TrevorD 05-27-2010, 01:07 AM My order was officially placed today, and they already submitted a sold order for one of their employees. I'm educating the dealer, so they have no idea when they'll start showing up. They were guessing July. I told them that we'll wait and see where the pricing ends up. If they do a major price hike I'll let them sell it to someone else and just wait for year-end rebates. I, too, find it ridiculous that they can order a vehicle for me but can't tell me what it will cost.
cdn111 05-27-2010, 10:19 AM Does that thing have a price on it?
nope..no pricing released yet
bayoubengal 05-27-2010, 07:44 PM It certainly looks like, as some have said before, they are waiting to see how much interest there is before issuing firm prices. It does seem strange though that Edmunds has MSRP and dealer invoice prices on there site but dealers can't give us prices.

That's exactly the way I feel!!! I gave my dealer the codes and prices off of Edmunds and told them to order me one this week and confirm pricing. They called today and said they cannot custom order for me or get any prices yet and don't really know when they can. I told them that tomorrow I will be going back to Ford and seeing what kind of a deal they can get me into right away for their 2011 with all the stuff I want....the only response from my dealer and the salesperson who has been there 26 years was that they understood. I have sold my existing Silverado and my buyer is waiting for a release date....and I have a super low interest rate loan commitment from my bank for 72 months which will expire rather quickly.....sheesh, I am a GM guy, but I am entertaining going to the dark side for a lot less money and an immediate vehicle in my garage.

Depending on your options for the ford, trust me they are not cheap either, I looked into one and couldn't believe the price. The salesperson told me they were not gonna deal.
I drove it because I wanted get a feel for the power coming in on the duramax, of course if they come back at me with a crazy price I will walk out the door my truck has already been ordered just waiting on a production date now.
TopazM3 05-27-2010, 11:09 PM Joined this forum to research the new truck. Hope to order one soon, as soon as some adequate pricing info comes out.:)
bobbss 05-27-2010, 11:36 PM There is a post in the new vehicle section, that a guy claims pricing is on the website for employees and dealers.
badinblack 05-27-2010, 11:42 PM Welcome!
heavybrewster 05-28-2010, 01:57 AM I have been told by two dealerships that June 2/3 is the day the pricing comes out. All i know now is that 2011 Sierra 2500HD will be in my driveway sometime in late August, early Sept. Storm Gray is the color.
Vertexrex 05-28-2010, 07:47 PM Well, my friendly Ford dealer called today and said he might have just gotten what I might like so the wife and I went and drove it. She loved burning rubber, the color combo, and the adjustable pedals. He gave me X-Code pricing which took about 3500 off the sticker, took dealer prep from 400 down to 75, and put together incentives totalling another 3000. So, it is now sitting in my garage after I put 60 miles on the odometer. I haven't owned any Ford product since 1964, but I think I may like this truck a whole bunch!!! Wow, I have actually converted to the darkside, but nestled in my trailer is a lovely and fast 63 NOVA that I show and race, so that must count for something. BTW, based upon my 65 year-old seat of the pants, I think this might be a 13 second quarter mile truck fairly easily...it really pulls especially down low.
jmac5058 05-28-2010, 08:08 PM I hope that the engine brake is going to be on your list of options for sure.Any idea how much that adds to the sticker.

Congrats on the new ride! Post up some unbiast opinions as you go. Some realistic real world economy numbers would be cool too.

Ted308 05-31-2010, 12:52 PM I drove the ford and I highly doubt that the truck will get into 13's unless you go with some aftermarket tuning. Of course there is all kinds of stuff out there for it already, the one I drove didn't even have an exhaust brake. Was impressed with the truck but can't switch with all i am hearing about the chevy!!

OHHHHH YOU TRAITOR!!!! LOL. Don't blame you man. Kinda glad I'm not in the US right now or I'd be so tempted. Been driving GM's for a long time myself but the first new dually I looked was a 2003 F-350. No cash and then fast forward to 2005 when I "thought" I had more cash. Back to Ford, then Dodge and finally GM when they had the special deal to blow them out the door. If the 6.0 hadn't been so problematic (as told to me by my finance officer) I would have bought an 05 F-350. Then they started making better engines but tweaked the interior and exterior and I don't care for it much.
All that just to ask you if the interior and exterior looks good in person. No offense meant and it's all subjective to personal taste. Same reason I won't be buying a new Camaro. I like the exterior but that interior ain't gonna get it for me. GTO, exterior plain and Cavalier like but the interior is top notch. Sheesh....I just go on and on.
Send us some pics when you can pls. Guess I just like all thre trucks and hope this new Scorpion gets the job done correctly for Ford. Who knows what I'll be driving next...if I sell/buy.
Thanks and congrats!!! Looking forward to long term reliability reports.
Ted308 05-31-2010, 11:11 PM Looked at the chevy website and the 2011 on there as shown is $44 so I guess if you add the duramax and allison option it would be another 10 or 12 grand making it a mid 50's truck on price wouldn't you think???

Should be under $10,000.00 just to add D/A option.

Congratulations... F-250, or 350? 4X4? Electric locking rear end? How often does she let you drive it!!?? You going to be pulling anything?
Vertexrex 06-01-2010, 11:51 PM Congratulations... F-250, or 350? 4X4? Electric locking rear end? How often does she let you drive it!!?? You going to be pulling anything?
It is a F-250 XLT 4X4 Crew Cab with 3.31 Electric Locking Rearend and I am pulling an enclosed car trailer with racecar and golfcart, etc. inside. The front grill look has worked out well since nobody will pull in front of me anymore and when I come up behind someone and they look at my big ole honkin Tonka Truck grille, they move right over!
TrevorD 06-02-2010, 12:49 AM Of those who have ordered a truck, how many know if their dealer already had an allocation for a 2011 truck? My dealer is sitting on my order, as well as one other, until they get allocations. To be honest, I'm really not in any hurry, but I'm curious how long I may end up waiting before I can even get in line for a TPW!
chrisx66 06-02-2010, 12:52 AM Im almost embarrased to say this, but i bought a 2011 F250. Ive had it for a couple weeks, i figured since ive worked for Ford for 23 years and got tired of GM's shitty service departments. I traded my 06 LBZ for it with 124,000 miles, my dealer gave me $23,500 for it, i got over $10k off sticker with the employee discount and rebates. I tried to buy a 10 GMC but didnt feel the value was there, my thoughts were it was just a reskinned classic with a dpf on it.
Here are some of my opinions comparing my 06 LBZ to the 11 Ford
I like the solid front axle.
I like the steering feel better on the Ford.
There isn't much if any turbo lag from a stop.
The cab has more room.
I like the tire and wheel packages.
Sync is pretty cool.
The cooled seat are nice.
The trans seems to not know what gear it wants to be in, especially when driving slow or coming to a stop then accelerating.
The seats were more comfortable for my butt in the 06.
The mileage so far was a little better in the LBZ.
The a/c was much colder in my 06.
Hard to compare the power as i ran a PPE on level 1 for years, but with the 40 horse setting the LBZ had much more midrange power.
Stock for stock its hard to say, but i think they are about equal, with the edge going to the LBZ.
The Bose stereo sounded better to my ears.
I really liked my LBZ , hopefully i'll like this Ford for awhile, at least ill get paid to work on it and wont void my own warranty. Ive always bought GM cars and trucks , but i feel their service departments suck, at least the ones ive dealt with. I'll post up some more opinions when i get some more miles on it.
badinblack 06-02-2010, 01:08 AM Good feedback Chris
TrevorD 06-02-2010, 08:55 AM Thanks for the honest feedback Chris. The 2011 Ford has crossed my mind, too, but my local dealers think they're worth sticker. So, I passed. I do a decent amount of pulling, and I'm honestly afraid to change. I'm so used to the Duramax (on my 4th), and it has always pulled anything I can put behind it really well. I'm also scared of the mileage. A buddy of mine has an LBZ, and his wife has a 2008 F250. He said the mileage is quite a bit worse than his 2500HD, but it pulls pretty well.
It would be hard to turn an F250 down if I worked for a dealership and I got $10k off! Congrats on the new truck.

Same as LMM....
wingnut96 06-02-2010, 01:26 PM Anyone finding a build it now website for the Chevy? I've been looking at the info but no build it like the GMC has. I was gonna buy a GMC next time around but that Chevy nose is looking pretty dang cool even if nothing has changed except the bumper. Is the metal thickness on all 3 major players still pretty thin or is Ford thicker? Weight is the main thing I'm sure and it all comes down to perceived ruggedness and stamping configuration. In a collision they'll all look like a beer can so wtf. Guess I'm thinking side impact, who knows with a head on.

I don't think there is a built it now option, I was looking for it too. I searched too and nothing came up.
wingnut96 06-02-2010, 03:18 PM got tired of GM's shitty service departments.
Unfortunately I've heard and seen this more than a few times. I took a company rig in for an oil change and it took them like 5 hours. Amazing how slow they can be but it's possible that they had other priorities. I made sure to leave a comment sheet though.
Thanks for the feedback on the comparison! I'm just going to have to see one in person and stop going from photos. Can't wait, like 3 weeks until I start processing for vacation. OOOhhhaaaa. :D
jimburr 06-02-2010, 05:27 PM I am waiting until the 2012's are out then i'll buy a new truck.
Vertexrex 06-02-2010, 11:12 PM I hope that the engine brake is going to be on your list of options for sure.Any idea how much that adds to the sticker.
Tried using the exhaust brake today and it works really well!!! It should save a bunch of brake wear on truck and trailer. BTW, it is not an option on the Diesel Ford...it is standard.
floriduramax1 06-02-2010, 11:24 PM I am considering a LML
Me too. Accountant gave the green light! Thinking dually this time... Wife wants the 06, so if I let her have it, pretty much green lights me for what ever I want:D
edit: leaves the 07 Rubicon open for some serious mods:D:D:D

It's also a standard option on all 2011 Duramax trucks. :)
DieselNasty 06-03-2010, 11:06 AM Id love to get one myself. Gonna wait and see what happens with the new engine and UREA injection BS. Also I want to wait and see whats going to to come out for these monsters within a yr. The hp and tq ratings are just unbelievable!

The ford I test drove with the new motor didn't have an exhaust brake. The sales person didn't know if it did and the sticker didn't even list it, unless it comes on with tow haul but I felt no difference.

The sticker doesn't liist it since it is not an option...it is standard. It is activiated when you push the tow/haul button on the end of the gear selector handle....which makes sense I guess. Not sure how Chevy does it since I couldn't even get anybody to take an order from me for a 2011 and there were none to drive. I suspect they both work pretty much the same.

Standard equipment is always listed on the sticker, Chevy and dodge have a different set up, you push a button for the exhaust break to engage. Both Chevy and dodge list the exhaust brake on there stickers and it is standard equipment for both. Ford brake is automatic with the tow haul from what I just read, of course I like the button :) Anyone know if the Chevy will engage at an idle like the dodge to help warm up the block on a cold day??? Always hated that during hunting season, takes forever to get a heater working!!

It might not list certain built in features. Just because they are standard, doesn't mean it will be on the sticker. Having the exhaust brake is an engine feature. It is like the Duramax having aluminum heads(another engine feature), but it doesn't list that on the sheet, and it's standard. I'm not saying it won't be on there, but it is very possible that it won't be.
That's sounds cool, I didn't know Dodge trucks had that feature. BTW, Elevated idle+winter cover= warm truck in about 3 minutes, even if it's VERY cold out.

On the GMC, it looks like the high idle is an option so I'm not sure if they're part of the DIC setup like our older ones or a seperate switch. It sure is nice having it on my LT though...and heated seats. Lots of people have those, I'm just reliving my truck I guess. Not sure why I wanna sell it and probably won't for awhile. I am excited about trying out the Banks Speed brake after I get it, the iQ and new intercooler installed...oh along with the LBZ mouth piece. Seems kinda stupid to install all that stuff and then be tempted to sell it. If I bust up them plastic fenders then I might reconsider or just go flatbed. Value on our older ones will probably take a big hit now that this new power house is out there. The Ford could have a lot to do with that as well.
bobbss 06-03-2010, 11:44 PM I went by the dealer yesterday and still no pricing. He said they may not take supplier cost certificates, and they never do it,but he thinks some dealers will want more than sticker.I let him know not from me they won't,and if they won't take the certificate (I hope to have),I will have to try another dealer and if none of them want to deal at all then I would have to wait till they got more realistic or buy a Ford.I told him I didn't wait all this time just to buy a Ford but I would before I let myself get ripped off.He also said it would probably be 8-10 weeks after he placed the order before he would get it in.I hope he is full crap and doesn't know what he is talking about.I don't want to have to buy a Ford.lol!
badinblack 06-04-2010, 03:19 AM I can see some dealers trying to charge at least MSRP at the beginning of this if not more. Anyone who falls for this would be crazy or have waaay too much money to play with. It will only take a couple of months after these things are on the lot before it will be business as usual.
A stealership is a stealership. If they have the opportunity to make a little extra off a sucker, why not. Can't blame em for that. Thats just business. Just don't let yourself be the sucker.
Hopefully, if your dealer is a reputable one......they will do you right from the start.
05greendmax 06-04-2010, 04:14 AM not me they can have um yooul spend as much money in gittin rid of all the emission junk then i did on my tuner for my lly i hate emmisions crap!!!!!!!!!!!
Watrdawg 06-04-2010, 09:50 AM Sticking with my LLY for now. It's paid for and only has 78K on it. My son will be 16 in a couple of years and he wants my truck. That will be a good excuse for me to get a new one then.
bobbss 06-04-2010, 10:58 AM I can maybe see them not wanting to deal on one they have on the lot or one they have to trade for,but not on one if they have to order it.It's not like they would of missed out on selling to someone else, the one they had to order for you or will GM only let them order so many?I would like to think GM would like to sell as many as people want to buy and wouldn't want to limit how many trucks each dealer can sell.If they do then it sounds like bad buisness to me.
TrevorD 06-04-2010, 02:55 PM I'm sure you'll see limited allocations on diesels for the first month or two until they ramp up diesel production. I'll give them MSRP less supplier and not a penny more.
salmandmx 06-04-2010, 03:06 PM Salmandmx, Got a price yet??????????
Mine is fully loaded out. There isn't a sticker per say on it yet. But dealership said it would be right at 55k.
salmandmx 06-04-2010, 03:10 PM Same as LMM....
Truck for truck. Stripped down all the way to fully loaded, the price difference between LMM and LML is $650 bucks.

I was talking about the engine/tranny cost. It is the same as the LMM was....$7195/$1200...IIRC.
Ted308 06-04-2010, 08:58 PM Called the dealer and told her if the truck was gonna be mid 60's I wanted to cancel the order, getting the truck loaded ltz, maybe that will spark a fire for her to start trying to nail down a price, i have bought several trucks from her and she helps out a lot see what happens next week.
clarkely 06-06-2010, 06:10 PM Mine is slated for 6/28 delivery according to the tracking website.
Can't wait!!!
Curious to see what it will cost, but juiced to be getting an early one :)
Dealer is a friend so I will be treated fairly :)
Shrdlu 06-06-2010, 06:28 PM A GM dealer told me that often GM does not offer the supplier discounts right away on hot new models--and never on the Corvette. He said that the Terrain crossover SUV, for example, was not eligible. He had no info on the HDs.

tvfrfireguy 06-07-2010, 04:44 PM I have one ordered but the deal is in doubt now. I have done business with this dealer for years. They told me as soon as they got a price they would let me know.. Well guess what, the prices are in and they strill won't give me a price. I call Dave Smith motors in Idaho and got a price and did the Edmunds price check. Both were within two hundred dollars of each other. I gave that price to the sales guy I have deal with and he told me to order it somewhere else. So much for customer relations. I have done all are repair and service with this outfit and they send me elswhere.

Thats all I'd need to hear to be gone down the road. I'd go order my truck elsewhere, then have a picture taken with it and mail it to the owner of that other rat hole.
Don't let the bad experience ruin the experience of owning a great truck.
TrevorD 06-07-2010, 09:57 PM Not shocking at all. Most of them will sell their grandma if they can make an extra dollar.

But do it in front of the other dealer, with two thumbs up. That's what I'd do to those assholes!!!! Maybe even get a picture of the nice big check you write in there too!
tvfrfireguy 06-07-2010, 11:47 PM Thanks you guys. I just may have to go with the Dave Smith Motors in north Idaho. I called two other dealers today and no one will give me a price or return my phone calls. I didn't tell them I had a price in mind and it is like they won the lottery and don't need the business. I noticed the stock market in tanking again so when people see that they pull in their wallets. I have to tell you though I feel pretty violated after being a loyal customer for so many years. I mailed them and asked them if they still wanted my business and haven't heard a word.
mmaul1039 06-08-2010, 12:01 AM my dealer called me today they have pricing for cc chevy. they hould get their first truck next week. will go for a test ride then order
TrevorD 06-08-2010, 12:27 AM Keep us posted on your first impressions! My dealer has pricing, but the sales mgr. seemed a little put out when I asked for a price. He has to add it up manually, so I guess it was a bother. LOL! The nerve of me asking for a price on a vehicle that I'm wanting to purchase! Maybe I should try to ignore their request for payment when the truck comes in and never return from the test drive. :D
dmaxhd 06-08-2010, 12:46 AM I'll be keeping my 08. It only has 19K on the ticker and is paid for.

Loyalty used to mean something. Unfortunately it doesn't anymore....except in rare, small small town type of atmospheres. And in those places, most of the dealers were closed down.
Its unfortunate, but its just the direction were headed. Get the best deal you can. Dave smith should do fairly well for that. Good luck. Keep us posted on how it goes.
taxbreak 06-08-2010, 04:04 AM I sold my 06 GMC 3500 in March and am going to start looking for 1 next month, hopefully Ford and GM start offering rebates on the 2010 models to clear way for the 2011. As of now GM is offering 0% int for 72 months or 5,000 back, Ford Is offering 0% 60 months or 6,000 back and 1.9 % on 72 month terms. Good luck everyone
Ted308 06-08-2010, 11:54 AM From what I understand, anyone paying a high price on this truck is getting screwed by the dealership. Salesperson said some people still over charge for the camaro, people just go in and have to have it so they pay the price. Talk to her and told her what the denalis are going for on the gmc website and she said they did some leg work this weekend and the truck I want 3500 single wheel ltz sun roof, rear sliding window, high idle, everything I could get pretty much should be a low to mid 50's truck, of course I am sure ttl gonna put it around 60 out the door. Let's hope for some rebates!!!

tvfrfireguy 06-08-2010, 03:33 PM Here is the latest update in my new truck purchase. As you recall in the last installment the sales guy I have dealt with for years tells me to pound sand. He calls me this morning and with a sad hang dog voice tells me managment would never sell one of these new trucks that cheap. I wished him well and told him that the stock market is starting to tank again and they may sell a few with inflated prices, but the reality is that people will get scared of the economic situation that they here on the news and they will be stuck with forty some new trucks while they let a sure thing go from a long term customer who went elsewhere. An hour later the phone rings and I here that managment wants to sell me the truck. I am still going to price it else where. Here is the quote from Dave Smith. Dooley, LTZ, DRW, 4WD, all options except sun roof, navigation, and dvd player. Sticker 56K and change, their price 52,008. I think I will keep looking. What do you think? Wait six months? Don't get the wrong idea as I think everyone is has the right to make a living. I year ago, I could have bought a truck just like the one I priced for just under 42K. What is a fair price? Is there any way to bust through this veil of secrecy and find out what is what? Have any of you tried the Consummers Report fourteen dollar "this is what they will take" report?
clarkely 06-08-2010, 04:08 PM What web site is that???
http://www.camarotracking.com/
If you have an order # you can get dates :)
Is that a GMC or Chevy?
Chevy :)
She had given me Ball Park Sticker Numbers......... The dealers have to do it manually yet........ The Numbers should be in their system soon, the dealer's in generla are a bit reluctant to give the #'s out since pricing isn't "in the system yet".....that and they (dealer) were initially told that the truck was going to be higher priced...... then the announcement of 2010 pricing held. You can't blame them for being cautious and wanting to make sure the number they give you is an accurate one.
Close friend is a dealer and i have no reason to not believe what they have ever told me.
wingnut96 06-08-2010, 05:58 PM For those of you in the West and thinking about Dave Smith, also consider Edmark Superstore in Nampa, ID. Not sure what kind of deal they would give you as I bought my 05 from them during the Employee pricing days. But they have a nice inventory (maybe not the new ones yet but they also sell GMC) and seem like a good group of people to work with. Facebook them as well. They have a pretty cool owners group and different events. Hey worth a shot. I'll post a guys name once he replies to my email. Just another source to consider for bids.
fedup 06-08-2010, 06:09 PM My local dealer sold two to relatives of mine. $600 over invoice. Invoice ~ 92% of sticker.

Simple fact is, the longer you can afford to wait, the cheaper the product will get.
As a general rule, there are two best times of the year to purchase. 1 would be to buy last years model in late summer when the new model year is coming out. The model year is supposed to run from september to september. So buying a 2010 in late summer is a good bet.
2nd would be to buy at the end of the calendar year. Auto manufacturers will typically push big incentives in december so they can get in all the sales they can before final numbers for the year are tallied.
Model year end and calendar year end.

Couldn't agree with you more but I have to admit I am a bad impulse buyer. I do have an offer for 25,000 on my current 05, not a bad down payment!!
wingnut96 06-08-2010, 10:42 PM Ted, how many miles on your truck? I'm trying to determine a price for mine. Not sure if I want to add the other Banks gear and just keep it. Not even broken in.
mmaul1039 06-08-2010, 10:43 PM I will post my impression of the truck and price after I drive. It will be a gasser, they are only getting 1 diesel so farand it won't be in for at least 3 weeks. Not worried just want an imprssion of the new suspension/frame. the D/A combo is the best in the business no questions there. Won't be able to work much of a deal I get GM discount so only trade in left to dicker with.

I have 115,000 miles on it and have all the receipts of my maintenance which is real helpful. Truck is worth 20 but I am selling as is stacks, efi live, big sound system, metal works, black wheels, air bags, 18 strobes, and few other items so I have a good offer of 25 on the truck and it's paid for so it would be a good down payment. My wife hates the stacks and a few other items, guess i need to grow up a little so why not start fresh with the new LML!!
TrevorD 06-08-2010, 11:30 PM It's pretty funny what you find when you shop around, even when you're used to dealing with one dealer. I have my "normal" dealer telling me that they don't even have an allocation yet, they're not sure on supplier pricing, bothered to get me a price, etc. I call another dealer that my business partner has dealt with a lot in the past, and he has 8 diesels in the build process! He has two already built, one building tomorrow, another on Monday, and the list goes on. He said supplier price is no problem, and I could have a truck within a few weeks if I take one of his current trucks! That would be ideal considering I have my truck sold for $35k, and the buyer would like a time frame as to when he can get the truck! I'm waiting on a fax back on final pricing, and iti looks like I'm gonna end up buying from another dealer.
Don't be afraid to call around, even if you're satisfied with your current dealer. You might be pleasantly surprised with what you find. :)

Ya.....that damn impulse thing gets me everytime as well :)
I think if you can get 25k for a vehicle with over 100k miles, regardless of the stuff you are selling with it, that is a good deal and personally, I'd take the money and run.......unless you want to keep it. Obviously the options and records help a lot, but I still think thats a good deal.

X2 Never just go to one dealer and buy......unless you have a really special relationship or a set price like Supplier Discount. Don't be afraid to get a best price from a few dealers and let them fight it out. That will leave you the winner.
aka108 06-09-2010, 10:53 AM My sig truck goes 40 mile round trip to the shooting range and to a few stores each week. Maybe 1/8 to 1/4 tank of fuel every two weeks. Not going to NV this year since we have a few med problems requiring certain followups with the Drs. No way in the world I can rationalize spending for a new truck at this time.

Hijackin for a sec. Did I ever PM you about Elko? I lived there Sept 06-July 07 workin for UPRR. I have a few pics in my garage on the move from Elko to Pocatello. Have some good Ham radio friends in Elko...and a few ATV folks.
Ok crap, I forgot about the Elko ATV Jamboree. Bet I'll be home too late to go. Yep, it ends the day I fly out of Kuwait.:rolleyes: Didn't even think about it. Wonder if Moab is happening? Miles...dirt...atv's and bikes. Some people miss their wives and G/F's, I miss my toys. Ok, I'm tarded.
http://www.highmountainatv.org/ Probably about the same distance from Moab.
Hope you get to feeling better and can make it another time.

If you have an order # you can get dates :)
Thanks for posting the link... I was thinking that GM should have a way to do this!! Now I just have to wait for my dealer to send me the order # and VIN!!
TrevorD 06-09-2010, 11:30 PM I put a deposit on a red on ebony LTZ today. The dealer had no problem honoring my supplier price, and the order was already in. The truck will be built on Monday, and the dealer expects it to be at his place within 2 weeks. He said he'll have the invoice late this week or early next and will have a tenative arrival date at that time. Only option the truck didn't have that I wanted was 20" wheels, but if I was smart I'll keep the 18's. It'll ride better, and tires will be a little better in price. We'll see what they look like first. :) With any luck, I'll have a new truck by the end of the month!

TrevorD 06-10-2010, 12:11 AM I'll be sure to get pics up and first impressions once it arrives. I'm in Lubbock, and I'm buying from a dealer approx. 30 miles from me. It'll be worth the short drive. :)

actually i find that the 18" tires are about the highest priced tire out there. I guess because 20's are so much more popular. Either way I can't wait till these trucks start hitting the lots.. where are you buying from?
MTU alum 06-10-2010, 01:24 PM 18" Tire is Michelin and 20" tire is Goodyear.

Great to hear!Sounds pretty close to the deal I was offered yesterday, that I will probably take and hope to give them the deposit today or tomorrow so they will place the order. The wife wants me to make sure there isn't a better deal out there than supplier pricing :duh:before I place the order. The order and deal is all wrote up and waiting for my deposit. The truck is a 3500 SRW CC LB 4X4 LTZ Z71 D/A Black/Ebony,LTZ Plus Package,High Idle Switch,Dual Alternators,Rearview Camera,Two Way Remote Start,Roof Markers,Vertical Camper Mirrors,Trailer Wiring Provisions.MSRP $54,985.00-MSRP W/DFC $55,980.00,with the supplier cost it came out to $52,XXX.00,I forget the exact price but I think it was low to mid $52,XXX.00.Also they offered me $17,000.00 trade in on my 2004.5.

bayoubengal 06-10-2010, 07:37 PM Bob, Aren't the remote control power extendable camper style mirrors standard with the LTZ model?
TrevorD 06-10-2010, 09:05 PM FYI, the camper-style mirrors are an additional $55 with the LTZ trim.
I'm glad others are getting supplier, too. I think it's a reasonable deal considering it's a new model year with a decent amount of changes. I'm getting enough for my '08 that I feel good with trading. I'm sure we'll see rebates at the end of this year, but I've already embraced the deal I have to get the truck in the next few weeks. :) We'll see how the truck really is once it starts getting delivered to the masses. I have two races this fall that I'll be going to with our 48' enclosed trailer. It'll give me 4,000 miles of pulling our big trailer to get a good feel for the truck. Until then, I'll break it in with a few trips to the lake with the boat. :D
bobbss 06-10-2010, 10:56 PM Well I gave my deposit today,so my order is placed. They said it should be in the system tomorrow or saturday:clap:.Anybody know how long it takes to get a build date?Yes,it was $55.00 for the camper mirrors with the LTZ.The other dealer I talked to today (to make sure I was getting a good deal for the wife) said there should be a $1,500.00 rebate on them or getting ready to be one soon.I hope he knows what he's talking about.

You can say that again! I don't want summer to go by too fast, but I want my new truck!
bobbss 06-11-2010, 12:46 PM I tryied to order the 265/70/18 A/T tires but it would only let me order the all season.Does anyone know whats up with that, and what tires I will end up with? You would think the A/Ts should be in with the Z71 package.

I hear you!It would really be nice to have the truck next month for my vacation trip to the Smokys but I don't see that happening.Hopefully I'll at least get it in time to take a few small trips with the travel trailer and see what the bad boy can do.If not I'll hook it up and go for a ride anyway.lol!
wingnut96 06-12-2010, 05:51 PM I'm hesitant to ask this question because I know the logical answer but would you guys buy a new truck so it could just sit for up to 2 yrs in storage? Logically it would be stupid, emotionally I really want to get this new truck. I'm so tempted to call a couple dealers to see what kind of deal they could make me but I'd more than likely be waisting their time. As you notice in my signature my truck is in pristeen condition with around 22,000 miles and paid for. I keep telling myself there's no need to get rid of it but sometimes it just doesn't work.
Depreciation on mine will continue but buying a slightly used 2011 or close out would probably offset the depreciation of my 2005 by $5000 or more. Only thing that accomplishes both would be to use it at the beginning of my vacation and then see if I can sell it outright before I come back or see if I can get my g/f a power of attorney. But then that leaves her to take care of all the details and then meet someone someplace instead of at the house. She doesn't drive it so I doubt she'd want the hastle. So, once again I live up to the wingnut name. Just rambling.
Or I could just keep my dually for the heavy loads and buy a CC/SB later on for a DD, which flies in the face of my earlier posts about LB versus SB. Bla bla bla. :^)

I would think so, but you never know. I ordered my truck on 5/26 and got my order code in June (that is when I asked the dealer for it). Looking at the GM Order Codes, it would make sense that an order number is generated as soon as the order is placed.
Keep us updated!!

I thought Carbon Black Metallic was discontinued for 2011? That is what I wanted but dealer said it wasn't able to be ordered. Onyx Black is still available though...

SO true. After that last post of mine I was thinkin of trying to find some Spock avatar or at least a hand.
TrevorD 06-15-2010, 12:27 AM My truck was supposed to be built today. My dealer said to give them a call on Wednesday to see if they have an estimated shipping and delivery date. I suppose we'll see!
bobbss 06-15-2010, 10:42 AM All of the reviews that came out yesterday, are complaining about the interior. Can it really be that bad,or are some people just to picky?Surely a new LTZ will be better than my old 04 LS?How do you guys think the Bose in the new truck will compare to the Bose in my 03 Vette?

Like the new ipod controls on the radio, but thats usally the first thing to go on my trucks, gotta have a good sound system!!!

It's leaps and bounds ahead of the GMT 800, but there are a lot of people out there including myself that have had their truck in the dealer several times for interior rattles. The bose system in mine is OK at best. It will definitely be better than the non bose, but not what a bose system could or should be......IMO
Even with the upgrades to the performance of the truck, its tough for many of us (at least me) to drop that kind of dough on a truck that would feel exactly like the one I have been driving for the last 3 years from an interior/exterior standpoint. If I still had the old body style, i'd jump on an 11 though.
bobbss 06-17-2010, 01:33 PM I got my order number from my dealer yesterday and put it in the tracking deal, but all it said was no notes. Is that normal?I thought it would at least say what the order is,even id it doesn't have a build date yet.How much info will the tracking thing give you?
TrevorD 06-17-2010, 02:31 PM Mine shows the same thing, and the TPW on the order shows 6/14. Do yourself a favor and do NOT call Chevrolet Customer Care. They are USELESS. The guy calls my dealer for info on the order! I can call the dealer myself! He then tells me that the order was accepted last Friday, and I will not receive a truck for three months. I tell him that it shows a TPW of 6/14, and he said it might have been produced...who knows. I ask if there is any information on how long the diesels will be bayed, and he ignores the question and tells me 2-3 months before delivery. LOL I remember my dealer saying that it's still at 3800, which means the truck has been built. But, in the words of the omniscient customer care rep, who knows.
It would be nice if people that have an order in can at least find out when trucks will start shipping. It doesn't seem like GM is giving any information to anyone, including the dealers. I'm getting estimates from 2 weeks to 3 months for delivery! I have my '08 sold for a good price, and it would be nice to know what to tell the buyer. He agreed to wait until the new truck arrives, but the last thing I want is to have him back out because it does turn into 3 months. My last information from a source I consider credible (for what that's worth!) said diesels will start shipping at the end of June. Let's at least hope that's correct.

Don't worry about what day it gets built. Quality levels are very consistent from day to day and shift to shift.
TrevorD 06-18-2010, 10:33 PM FYI, the date they give you means it will be built sometime that WEEK. All TPW dates will show a Monday AFAIK. I am hoping mine got built today. My TPW was on Monday, and as of this morning it was still showing 3400. The real question I have is when will the diesels start shipping???
DarthDiesel 06-18-2010, 10:43 PM When the Denali hits the lots I will buy one.
Does anyone know if you can get marker lamps on those things? None of the online pics have marker lamps.

I didn't have the option of building a 3500 srw though??
DarthDiesel 06-18-2010, 11:12 PM For a Denali? Awesome. To my knowledge the Denali only comes in a 2500 Crew gas or dmax.

fireguy2 06-22-2010, 02:38 PM Hey!!! Wait your turn buddy.... I placed my order on 5/26 and my TPW is 7/19... jk... Good luck with your truck!!! Post some pics when you get it!!
fireguy2 06-22-2010, 02:40 PM I just received a call from my dealer, and he said the truck will deliver on July 8th or 9th! :D The truck is built, and the VIN was assigned this morning. I'm on the downhill slope now!
Trevor - how accurate was your TPW from the dealer to actual production? My TPW is 7/19 but I hope things move quicker than that.

TrevorD 06-22-2010, 05:38 PM Trevor - how accurate was your TPW from the dealer to actual production? My TPW is 7/19 but I hope things move quicker than that.
It was somewhat accurate. I had a TPW of 6/14, and it would've been built last week had it not been for production shutting down last Friday. Apparently they had a shortage on a part, and they couldn't build any trucks until it was back in stock. My truck ended up being built yesterday. So, I would fully expect your truck to be built the week of July 19th, barring no surprises, parts shortages, etc. GM is pretty good about keeping production close to the TPW. From that point, it'll be a waiting game on getting it on a truck and to the dealer. Once the VIN is assigned after production, your dealer should be able to get you a tenative delivery date.
clarkely 06-22-2010, 09:49 PM My Date is 6/28 ........I expect to see it 7/8-7/9 -7/12 ........ but with everything new........ I can't buy what i want.....aftermarket that is.
New Bolt pattern means i have No wheels to choose from. I ordered with 20" wheels cause my dealer is buying back.....they know i want custom wheels.......can't order Nerf bars cause know one will guarantee a fit yet, exhaust, intake, programmer.............
Juiced that my truck is only a couple weeks away, and that The DW is going to take my 2500 Sub for a daily driver :) (i love my Sub - i did not want to let it go, and now I'm not)
But bummed i can't accessorize it to make it "mine" yet.

Wife is taking the Burb that is great!
You should be able to get Nerf Bars and as long as you have 20" wheels I would keep those.
Stay away from exhaust, intake, programmer. You will not need it. Kramer never really beat me in mileage with all that stuff he did to his anyhow. With these new designs I would let it stand the test of time and that warranty is worth more and more as these things get more complicated. Think the fuel system is Delphi and not Bosch and that is all new and bet injectors are going to be better then $500 each easily.
Trust me your trailer catches less wind then mine and is lighter. You will motor far past what your burb can do especially on the hills. No comparison!!!
I filled up today with probably 3/4 highway mileage and was 19.1. Can get 22 on the highway going about 70 MPH.

Nerf bars - no one has them listed yet and a couple phone calls got a response of we need to get a hold of the truck and make sure mounting locations are the same...... so no aftermarket yet.
I am not sure i want 20" wheels...... i was thinking 18" wheels.....and Black wheels .....will hide Dirt Nicely.....
If i had more money to burn......I will describe what i envision. I ordered Taupe Gray Metallic - Black Diamond plate front and rear bumpers, a "3 inch Mini Lift", Black Wheels (size TBD), Black Nerf Bars with Hook Steps 3@ side, truck all De Badged. Custom painted Fender Flairs that Match the truck, blacked out windows, spray in liner, access toneau cover...... possibly Rhino custom matching coating on rocker panel.......
Any Performance stuff was going to be down the road a bit any after i see whether it is worth it........although 2010 was quiet..... i like to hear a rumble :) may have to do a little something ;)

And Air bags and compressor with holding tank.
Coolbreeze 06-23-2010, 11:10 AM The mini lift is going to screw you up. Others have levelled their trucks and made the rear end spongy then had to spend more to tighten it back up. The rake is there to absorb your trailer weight, again ask Kramer. Money down the pooper if you ask me.
Air bags are likely optional you have a much more stout truck and still you only have 1,100 lbs tongue weight so not sure what benefit you would derive from them. I have way more tongue weight then that and my trailer rides great. Stock shocks are junk so Bilsteins may just totally negate the airbags.

good post this one...+1 as they say:):)
but yeah, as goes wheels clarkley 18s are indeed the best for a SRW truck...

Bob - My dealer emailed me this morning and gave me the good news - the tracking site doesn't reflect the new date yet. It looks as though the tracking site is updated Wednesdays or Thursdays... I have to wait till next week to see if the new date is reflected.
Huntindog 06-25-2010, 04:47 PM My truck hit the site as (2500) Order preferenced on Tuesday. On wendsday it went " (3000) accepted by production control" . Still waiting on a TPW.
theunderlord 06-25-2010, 04:49 PM here's my question; when GM figures out how to meet the emissions standards without "DEF/Urea" who's going to want the LML? isn't this kinda a knee jerk reaction to sell diesel trucks that meet code, while they're working on a better system?
asking, not trying to start anything.
Huntindog 06-25-2010, 04:57 PM I'm not too worried about that. Most all of the manufacturers are going to Urea with DPF, including the some of the commercial trucks.
Dodge seems to be the only holdout, but I hear they are likely going to come onboard in a year or two.
Besides, I need a truck now. I will likely keep it 10 years or so.
theunderlord 06-25-2010, 05:03 PM Fair enough... just posing a though.. again, not trying to be a D*ck.

TrevorD 06-26-2010, 12:47 AM You'll get a weekly email until your TPW. Then you'll get daily updates. If, for some reason, you don't have an update by the Saturday of your TPW, they'll update again on the following Tuesday. You won't get anymore updates once your truck is produced. They only give post-production updates for Camaros. I had a 3800 status this past Tuesday, and I know my truck is somewhere between MI and TX! My dealer was estimating July 8 or 9, but i may get it in time for a July 4th trip with the boat to the lake! :) My truck goes to the new owner tomorrow, so next week would be excellent timing.
clarkely 06-26-2010, 08:24 AM When are there going to be aftermarket wheels!!
Mine is being built on Monday the 28th, My dealer was taking the 20's and tires off new and I would pick wheels and tires.......
I also was leaning towards 18's and a little taller tire......
I primarily will be pulling a large - 36 foot - 10,000lb bumper pull trailer.....
I am thinking I want a stiff sidewall 18.....or should I go 20????

I go to a few different lakes regularly, but i always spend the holiday weekends at Lake Hubbard in Breckenridge. My best friend's family has two houses on the lake, so it's always a great time with a bunch of friends and family. We'll sometimes head to the Kingsland/Marble Falls area to Lake LBJ. My boat is an '07 Malibu 23XTI Wakesetter.

Ted White 06-28-2010, 10:27 PM Underlord, I've spent an enormous amount of time since late 2006 studying, and keeping up with developments in, diesel emissions systems as they apply to our trucks. You posed a very good question regarding elimination of the urea system once it is replaced by some other technology.
Well, that technology already exists, but it obviously isn't advanced enough to be adopted by vehicle manufacturers at this point in time. I suspect, based on my research, that movement to a no urea based system is at least 2 model years away. The urea system has been well proven over a number of decades with stationary diesels and there would be no incentive to change to a no urea system until it has been proven in the field, and comes in at least at the same cost, or less.
Bottom line, if you're ready for a new truck, no point in waiting around for 2 years or more for a potential change that may not come. Ordered my 2011 two weeks ago. Life's too short to wait for the next model change. Want my fun now.
TrevorD 06-28-2010, 10:44 PM I made it 2.5 years before trading, which is a small miracle knowing my track record. I figure I'll be ready for another truck in 2.5-3 years, so maybe we'll be close to a body change at that point. :)

mmaul1039 06-30-2010, 11:31 PM both were D/A's with 18's
bobbss 06-30-2010, 11:47 PM I guess you must of liked them, since you ordered one? What did you think of them?
mmaul1039 06-30-2010, 11:58 PM the GMC had a little less wind noise(could only tell with the radio and air off), I also believed it rode slightly better, but I think the front end is way to plain. Liked the front end and hood looks of the chevy much better. the plastic louver on the GMC shook going down the road. they have plenty of power and are way quieter than my buddies LBZ(which is quiet IMHO). truck is very comfortable and handles great. I avg. 15 city 20 highway on a short 12 mile test run.
tmcran 07-04-2010, 01:46 PM Question... Don't need personal info. I was at the dealer this last week getting recall on my Buick. Talked with salesman I know. Ask him about the new LML. He said there had been a lot interest. However, he said a number of the folks he has talked with want to trade-in LMM's 07 -08 and a few 09's.
He said the problem he had was getting a number qualified for loans as they are so upside down that the payments for some would be over $1500.00 per month. He said GMAC has gotten tighter about loans and don't like the upside down loans. Have you guys seen anything like this? I have paid cash for all my vehicles over the years so not really familiar with the car loans. This just sounds high but perhaps this is average?

He's talking about the people that put little to no money down on their LMM and are now looking to trade it in. You have to keep the vehicle a few years at minimum, depending on the amount financed, to at least break even on your trade. People get so wrapped up in wanting a new vehicle that they never stop to consider whether or not they can actually afford it! This was part of the problem with the credit crunch recently. These were the same people that defaulted on their home loans and tried to get interest-only loans on their house. They can't afford it with traditional financing, so they do an interest-only loan to get what they want. Poeple would do it with cars, too, if they could get away with it. I was even kn my trade with my LBZ when I bought my LMM, and I also put money down. I have over $11000 equity from my '08 that's going towards my '11, and im putting additional money down. The diesels have much better resale value vs. other vehicles, but it doesn't help much if you're trying to roll negative equity into every loan. At some point, you have to pay it off, whether through a single payment or over time. My truck is financed through my company so we can deduct the interest paid on the loan. If you're buying a $50,000+ vehicle and not putting anything down AND not applying any positive equity from your trade, you're setting yourself up for problems. Of course, it all depends on your monthly cash flow.

Agreed, I paid off my 05 selling for 25 and putting that towards the new truck. Gonna Finance the rest and pay it off within the year only reason I am going for the lml, that and my wife hates my truck with the stacks on it :(. Of course the banks at this point are not lending money, had a lot of problems getting a loan for the boat even though I had great credit and income looks good on paper. One bank approved and I paid it off within the year. Of course I think high fuel prices help sink us as well, people couldn't fill up there truck and make payments.
Dueling-in-MD 07-05-2010, 01:26 PM My 06 is paid off and running like its still new.
I can not justify buying a new truck and getting back into payments right now.
If I could pay cash it would be a different story, but with the youngun getting ready to head in to college in a couple years I dont think it would be finacially resposnible to do it right now.
tmcran 07-05-2010, 01:50 PM Years ago I bought used autos and then when paid off kept putting the car payments in the bank. Later bought better and better used autos. When paid off kept it up until I could pay cash. I have continued to save amount each month over the years and have not had a loan on a vehicle in over 30 years. I average about 7-8 years on each auto I buy. My 07 is is great and meets all the needs I have. Hope to keep for at least another 5 years. I have saved lots of money in interest over time.

It didn't give me any info right away,I'm not sure if that is because there wasn't any info or if it takes time for the system to kick in after you register(for a live person to set it up).I think it took a day before it e-mailed me an alert that there was an update.
TrevorD 07-07-2010, 02:02 PM It'll typically take 24 hours before you get an update. It'll only update you once a week prior to your TPW, and then it will update you daily during your TPW. Once the truck has been built, it won't give you anymore information. They can only track Camaros post production. Once it does ship, you can get a rail # and track it once it leaves the factory. I never got that, so I've been relying on my dealer for updates. As of last Thursday, my truck was in MO en route to OKC. It was going to be put on a transport from OKC to come to West Texas. No news as of yesterday afternoon, but I'm holding my breath I get a call today. They expect the truck to show up tomorrow or Friday. I'm keeping my fingers crossed! If so, I'll get it just in time for an 800-mile round trip to NM this weekend. It'll give me some good seat time with the truck to compare against my '08, and I can see how it mileages.

TrevorD 07-07-2010, 02:31 PM No, I won't be towing. I'm headed to visit family. I believe they recommend at least 500 miles before towing, but I'll have to look to be sure.

Bottom line, if you're ready for a new truck, no point in waiting around for 2 years or more for a potential change that may not come. Ordered my 2011 two weeks ago. Life's too short to wait for the next model change. Want my fun now.
fair enough... thanks for your input man. :)
TrevorD 07-07-2010, 05:42 PM Yep, I sold it with everything on it.
heavybrewster 07-08-2010, 03:55 PM Ordered mine yesterday and received a order # however in Canada we are not able to check any information on it. Had to settle on the base options with the sle interior and exterior packages and some other little extras, but i think i got a good price for Canadian pricing. Does anyone have the 18" rim pictures? That is one option i was thinking about but i could not find any pics.

You're in SK, I'm in NS...curious to know what your sticker price was (before incentives)? As I said in my post on the intro board, mine was $68,000 plus 15% sales tax.
heavybrewster 07-10-2010, 01:27 AM Stickered for 67,000 and paid ~ 53,000. Took it again up there but will be happy when it is finally home.
