Sent my oil in for the first time, mainly out of curiosity...

I had 4K miles on 15-40 Mobil Delvac non-syn with a AC Delco air & oil filter. Everything came in at or below "normal" levels. The report commented on the low Insolubles (0.1), stating that "they do not usually see them this low in a diesel, so your oil filter is doing a great job". They suggested trying 5K miles for the next sample, although I may not check it again until the engine warranty is expiring, which will be a while!

At least the news was good!

I check it every time I change the oil, that way I get a base line and can identify trends as they develop. It gives a lot more insight than one here one there

How much did you pay for that analysis and where did you send the oil?

Thanks!
