Built into the ECM. All electronic 6.5s have Drive-By-Wire accellerators, where the computer actually controls the speed of the engine. On benefit of this is cruise control is built in. The only thing you get when you buy the cruise option is the turn signal stalk with the cruise buttons.

If you go to a junkyard and get a turn signal stalk with the cruise buttons (even off a gasser) and plug it in, you will have cruise!

Thanks for that answer now I have a better one. the reason I am asking this is I have a friend that is a Dodge mechanic that is trying to find out why it does not work he does not know to much about Chev diesels. He checked the control arm by the steering wheel and told me that it is working and would like too know if any one else has had this problem and could give us some ideas to look for thanks Brad:help:

usually, if the C/C dont work, its either because the ECM is in limp mode, or one of the circuits for the brake light switch has failed. Check for codes, and check the brake (and cluctch if applicable) switches.
