Navigation Unit Differences???
Ok, I am into this now. I started digging and found that not all of these systems are the same. Some have buttons on one side, some on both. One I saw out of a Seville did not look like it had a slot for the disk. Does the face tilt to expose the opening? Are all of these touch screen, or did they make some that weren’t?
I don’t want to rush into this and find out I got the wrong one. Your help is greatly appreciated!!! :help:

Read up in this audio section before you buy something
Buttons on both sides are old NON touch screen models -:t
New factory touch screens have buttons only on one side
I don't think nav units out of caddy's will work in our trucks
GM has changed the part numbers over the years for the Nav unit's even though they look the same.
Latest # for the Lux amp version is 15230099
before that there was # 10377531, and others depending on what vehicle they went in.
Also thre is a Non Lux amp version like # 15229287 that might be in a Hummer 2
The Nav units Have to have the Nav CD in the unit to get the Nav to work, so if you want to listen to a CD at the same time you need either a CDX which is the 6 disc holder that fits in the console or the 6 disc that goes under the seat.
The new Nav units go for about $2,000 complete from JP customs or you could try E-scambay.
Some newer unit's are going for about $900 plus about $150 for the Nav CD and about another $60 for the Nav antenna.

Diesel Dragon you're exactly right, units out of Caddys most likely wont work. They are all units made by the Denso company, not Delco/Delphi. For that reason I dont know if the plugs in back will match up to the different platform (GMT-800 truck versus xxx platform of the Caddy cars). You say its out of a Seville...did you mean DeVille?? Im not sure if they ever made a nav unit for the Seville before it turned into the STS. The DeVille unit definetly wont fit, its a whole different size dash opening. Also, a lot of the newer Caddy's have started using a combination of GMLAN and Class II data bus networks. The Caddy nav units may use some GMLAN to communicate with the BCM. Our trucks use purely Class II data (except in the ECM-to-TCM communication...that is GMLAN data). Its probably not worth spending the money on something that "might or might not work". Id play it safe and get an INR (integrated nav radio --- non-touchscreen) or a TNR (touchscreen nav radio). Part numbers for the INR are '4334 and '4335. The part numbers for the TNR non-lux are '7287 and '9287 and '0727. Part numbers for the LUX TNR are as stated in DD's post.
