i have found a 2006 4500 crew cab,has small storage box and then a 10foot hyd dump bed.truck has 226k miles on it,duramax and allison.
it was an old company truck,decent shape,but needs injectors,tires and a few misc trim items.
they are asking $4000 for the truck as-is

how does that sound to anybody???

Completely your decision but you can't buy much of any kind of truck these days for $4K. Guess it depends on if you are willing to put the $$ and time in it to get it back in shape.

Sounds like you might be able to have a decent truck for less than $10K and then put a bed on it???

how many injectors?
get a parts list from the dealer and prioritize the parts of when you want to install them.
make chapters on cost and difficulty lvl ooh and don't forget to get the right tools.
or just buy the truck and start a tread on your truck.

as far as injectors,it really only needs 4,as per the techs diag.

a little timid to mention this,but im service manager at a decent sized chevy
light and medium duty dealer,so i kinda got a hookup on parts and labor too.

i dont think i should pass it up,just about perfect for haulin my mud truck,4 wheelers and the family around to the mudholes.

ill post up some pics once i take ownership.

Yeah, I would jump on it as well. Do the injectors myself and get the rest fixed :)
