With My predator on 100 and the VA box hooked up regardless of the setting, I sometimes experience what can only be called turbo cough. The boost rises to about 15 psi under moderate throttle and then coughs 2-3 times loosing 4-5 psi of boost with each cough. Any suggestions or experience with this problem? It has only done this with the predator and VA stacked.

Could be bursting. Running a lift pump?
Barking/coughing is normally during shifts or when you lift.

It feels completely different from the bursting I felt when stacking the edge and predator 5X5 and 40. I do not have a lift pump. It does not occur when shifting or lifting. It is during moderate acceleration only. If I really get on it it does not do it. This did not occur until the VA was added and happens on VA settings 0, 1 and 2.

Disconnect the VA completely. Drive the truck around. Look at the pins on the VA connector and pull each one with a set of needle noses. Look at the grey wire array connectors and make sure they are snapped all the way down. Reconnect the VA.
The VA sometimes loses it's mind. But they also fail. I'm on #3 right now.

Just out of curiousity, but do you have a built tranny or have one on order? The way you are playing, you are asking for trouble.
That's just my opinion though, for what it's worth.

Mine does the same thing, when shifting from I think 3rd to 4th. My truck is completely stock. Any ideas? Thanks.

 Mine does it with the Edge/Predator stacked (5 and 5). Just once in awhile at moderate to wide open throttle.

Same problem with my Banks. I can get my truck to do it all the time if i wanted to. It happens in any level with moderate throttle just as it changes from 4-5 gear. It has the cough about 3 or so times.
How ever my truck has only done it above 4500 feet and will also do it not as dramatic with out any programmer. I have taken it in but it is not as dramatic with out a programmer so no one can find it. I know it is there but once they see i have gauges they blame it on a possible mod install and give it back.
I would be interested to see what you guys come up with. I have tried everything let me know what you find.

No, i don't have a built tranny. It is the next upgrade i have planned. I do know the limits of my current configuration very well. It appears that the culprit for me is the VA box. I can't get it to do it without the VA. My guess is the VA builds boost so fast that the turbo freaks out and barks or coughs, what ever you call it. I have noticed it right before an upshift or lift of throttle. Once I started watching it closer it seems to happen at upshifts or throttle lifting but seems to be able to predict when I'm going to lift and coughs right before I do. I guess my biggest question would be, will this harm my turbo. It doesn't happen alot, but is something new for me to worry about.

I don't know much about the VA. If I were you I'd give their customer service a shot and see if they can give you a solution.

I too seem to have this issue with juice on 2 and running water/meth injection towing 15,000 lbs trailer....I THINK it's bursting, not 100% sure all new to me. I should just go back to a 1/2 ton and a tent....lol
