Filled tank in 04 HD Duramax with 10 gallons of gas. 3 gallons of diesel still in tank. Truck shut off and won't restart. Can anyone tell me how to completely bleed system?

Do it the old fashioned way and get a bucket and a hose; or go to Wal-Mart and get a kit to suck the gas out of the tank. Takes a little while with the kit, but it works! Get some Marvel Mystery Oil while your their and pour about 8 ounces in it after you fill up. good luck

You will have to replace the fuel filter as well.

Then bleed the lines as if you ran out of Diesel with the pump on the filter housing.

I would remove as much of the gas mixture as I could then fill the tank with diesel fuel and I would suggest a double dose of Stanadyne Lubricity Formula with the diesel fuel. Replace the fuel filter filling it with a mixture of diesel fuel and lubricity formula. To bleed the system properly use the plastic air bleed on the fuel filter and the hand primer. DO NOT crank the engine. Located on the right front of the engine you will find a black plastic screw on cap. Unscrew the cap and under it their will be a large valve that looks like a tire valve. Pump the hand primer on the fuel filter untill it is hard. CAUTION when you depress the valve fuel will come out under pressure so cover it with a rag and watch your eyes. Keep depressing the valve to all air is removed and the engine will start. The valve is used to bleed air from the rails. Your main concern should be the lack of lubricity the gas caused on the injectors, that is why the lubricity agent is very important.
