my fuel gauge stopped working and I just noticed that with out the key in my fuel oil and temp gauges sit about 1/4 of the way up. I can put the key in and the gauges go all the way down turn the key off the gagues slowly go back up. Is this normal because I never noticed it

Check your grounds. There is a ground on the back passenger side head that grounds the fuel gauge and I think a few other gauges.

i cleaned all the grounds last year but i will check them

It's normal for the gauges to stop wherever they are when you turn off the key. As soon as you turn the key back on, they go to zero or wherever they need to go.
