Can someone tell me what is needed to remove the rear axle spindle nut? I need to replace the leaking axle seals. Either a size/description or a tool part number to cross reference would be great. Truck is an '02 2500HD LB7/ZF6 combo.

Thanks,
Carl

pull the round clip from the threads, then with a magnet pull keeper pin strtaight out.after that knock the nut loose with a hammer and screwdriver, then remove it by hand.I am assuming the axle has been removed

Snap on sells a worthless tool for 75 bucks. I just bought a 4wd hub socket at O'reillys for 10 bucks. Bought the one with 6 teeth. If you clean it up with a grinder, it fits perfectly. While the hammer and screwdriver method will work to remove it, you cannot seat the bearings that way (I wouldn't). The hub socket allows you to use a toque wrench and put things back together properly.
