Anyone know of a place within 300 miles of Salt Lake City (Boise, Denver, Vegas) that is sells and installs the RCD 6" Lift? I prefer a reputable place that has proven great customer service.

Some auto parts stores can get them for decent prices. We had the local carquest get one and we installed it on my brother's 98. It was pretty simple.

Check with your local Les Scwab's and Big O Tire stores. Most of them will have good prices and will do the install (charging labor of course). Most will also backup any kit they put on your truck. Just be sure to ask about their experience on installs and if they can direct you to any references.

I would also think that there would be some specialty 4x4 shops in the Salt Lake area that sell and install kits.

Hope this helps. I would have recommended the guy who did my kit in Elko (about 3 1/2 hours west on I80), but he quit a couple of months ago.

Not sure if this will help but i got my lift installed at my CHevy dealership in Phoenix. It is covered under warranty when they install it. It turned out great, and looks awesome. You should check with your local dealership, i dont see why they wouldnt.

Can we get some price quotes from these guys in phoenix? I am coming down twice in the next 3 months for weddings -:t So it wouldnt be that big of a deal to me to get it done down there
I priced some local shops in slc and it looks like the lowest for the RCD was
$2500 out the door. I am cheap so I always shop around for the best price. For instance I could save $100 off that price by bringing the shocks in myself.

I have yet to get a quote from Less schwab tire stores...
Thanks for all the help and lets keep it coming!

Try Offroad Unlimited in Scottsdale, Az. Ask for Phil Jr. and tell him David said to call. Phone number is 480-443-2559. They have been in business for 28 years and have lifted two of my trucks and are doing my new one this week. Also, they are direct with RCD and will have the best prices.

I had Offroad Unlimited put a RCD kit on today and I will be picking it up tomorrow. I managed to get a set of the new ProComp Extreme alloys model 6001, they look pretty cool. The only downside to these rims was the inside lip was touching the upper a-arm. I have to put a 1/4in. spacer on the front for clearance. I will post some pictures when I get them. They just recieved some more kits today so get them while they are hot.:) David

Any truck will be under warranty if it is lifted. It is upto the dealer if they want to do the warranty work. I had a 6in lift on my last truck and they never mentioned it one time during my warranty issues. Even when the transfer case had to be rebuilt. Just take your truck to a dealer that sells lifted vehicles for warranty. The advantage to having the dealer install the lift is the cost can be included in your financing. David

if anyone still needs a RCD kit let me know, I can get the kit for $1343.95 plus tax.

Doesn't Midway charge something like $850.00 for the install when you buy that kit at $1343.00?

How much is the sales tax on this kit? I'm in Montana... we don't have a sales tax here. Add to this the cost of shipping and I'm probably not saving much money. But let's see some numbers to be sure. Thanks...

Hey Bajatoy.... In case you didn't already know, the wheels in your pics are Weld Rubicon Volt 8's. I hope you didn't get hosed on your deal as they are 5 to 8 hundred less per wheel than the Velocity's. Either way they do look awesome and I will have a set on mine. It's funny that I saw your gallery as our trucks will damn near be twins. I will update my sig and you'll see how close they are. I will post pics when I get it back. ;)

Edit to try to add sig...

CottonWoodBlues - If you ship out of state, there is no sales tax, but shipping charges would be huge. The kit is like 6 boxes I think and has to weigh a ton!

Buzz38 - Yes, I know they are not true Velocity's! But at $2100 for wheels AND tires I didn't care. The tires are usally expensive too! They are 35x13.50x18 (not 12.50 wide) and are "E" rated. Every other wheel and tire combo I found was $2500 or more. By the way get some pics of your truck!

Bajatoy - It's being put together as we sit. You got a smoking deal on your stuff from what I can tell. I should have ordered the stuff and put it on myself and that would have paid for the power adders but I got lazy and decided to let the liability lay on someone else. Are those mirrors off a halfton? I have the extending ones and they my be more functional but not near as purdy. I hope to have it back Monday afternoon and the camera is ready and waiting. In the meantime if anyone wants a look at it they can goto your gallery. ):h

I have 2 sets of mirrors for it. It came with the chrome electric ones stock. Then I got the black GM manual extendable ones for yanking the toy hauler around. I don't really like the extendable ones, makes a HUGE blind spot on the passenge side, but the stock chromies can't see past the toy hauler.

bajatoy (and others), I found a small 2" round spot mirror to put in the lower right hand corner of the passenger side extenable towing mirror and it really helps a lot. A 3" might work better, but at the time it was all I could find. It's just about perfect for opening up that blind spot. Just my $.02...

Info on the suspension connection?

Sounds like there are some good prices on the lift in AZ...
Bajatoy:
Would it be possible to get the lift from you and have your buddies @ midway install it? All told should run about $1900 ($1343 + $500) plus a few cases of brew for you and your buddies (after they are done with my lift of course :) ) Let me know...

Just from my experience of having stuff done "on the side" doesn't always work out in the end. Something usually happens and ends up costing me more money. For $500.00 you can have the kit installed by a tech at Offroad Unlimited that has been in the valley for 28 years. Offroad was the first shop in AZ to receive RCD kits and have installed hundreds of them. Bajatoy I am not trying to discredit you or start a flame war by any means, just passing along my experience. These trucks cost so much these days, I would hate to mess mine up to save a little money.

Phatty, This is what I wrote earlier in the post.

This way you won't be giving even more money to the dealer.

I also called Midway to check the $1343.00 price and it was not available. I am surprised that Bajatoy hasn't come on here to fix the mistake. David
