Got it in today. Boy what a PITA to get to it. The question is it just connects inline right? I dont need to connect it to some other plug just between the ones you disconnect right. Thanks Tate

It basically increases boost but keeps it in safe levels. Gives you a little more power, lower egt's (towing i assume), and possibly increase fuel mileage. I think I am right if not I apologize.

its suppose to give you a little more boost psi. which it does. really simple to install also, just plugs in-line and can be removed very easily before goin to dealer for any work. purchased mine from kennedy diesel.

Maybe if your hands and arms were the size of my 4 year olds :D. After I finally figured out where the plug was I removed the turbo MP. I dont have the tools available to remove the ac compressor and get it back on. But there was enough room this way. Since I had the MP off looked inside it had some gunk built up in it. So i cleaned it out while it was off. All in all it wasn't too bad.

A long flat tip screwdriver and a pair of needle nose pliers will get the connector off, then you just have to be delicate when putting it back on.

Well just towed from La Junta back to Kingman. Felt like it had more power while towing up the hills. But I have noticed what sounds like turbo bark when towing on long hill it drops down to 4th and then at the top of the hill it shifts back to 5th thats when I hear it. It doesnt do it all the time just every now and then is this normal?

That is correct. It does this by manipulating the signal from the MAP sensor to the ECM. Basically, the signal voltage is attenuated to a level where the ECM believes the boost level is below where it should be @ a determined rpm/load condition. Therefore, the ecm cycles the vane sensor (and slightly alters other outputs) in the charger thus creating more boost. It is very effective, but just you are aware, cant use an ECM output referenced boost gauge (Banks, Edge...etc) or run a pressure box style module with the boost stick.:)

i just recieved and installed my boost stick yesterday. i was a bit nervous about the job from the way everybody rants about it but it only took like 5 minutes and was very simple to do if you just pop the turbo mouthpiece off. after removing the MP and locating the sensor it took like 30 seconds to hook the boost stick up, i had to double check the instructions to make sure i didnt miss somethin cuz it seemed to easy from the way everyone talks.

as for performance gains i didnt feel much on the seat-o-pants-meter, but did gain 5 or 6 psi on the gauge. this is just runnin around empty so we'll see if it differs when it comes time to tow somethin.
