Any problem switching from a synthetic engine oil to regular oil (say normal 15W40) in an LBZ or any diesel for that matter?

No problem at all. Switch back and forth as much as you want without issues.

As far as I know (which isn't really too far) I think you can even blend syn and dino without any harm being done. I don't do it but understand you can.

Synthetics & Dino are compatible so no issues with switching from Dino to Syn or back from Syn to Dino.

I would agree. The only thing I would caution is to be ready for leaks if you go back to synthetic at high miles.
My 96 has been switched back and forth quite a few times. Currently have Mobil 1 0W30 in it now, cause I have it. Chaning it tomorrow, then the next my mom will have it so it's going to be whatever they put in. Been like this since I bought it in 03. Just depends on if I have it or if my mom or dad has it. For oil leaks on that, the oil pan and oil filter adapter are starting to go, but that's pretty much enough to get it wet. Have 158k now.
Other then that go for it.
