I have a chevy 3500 bucket truck with a bad motor it is a 1997 i found a school bus engine but they say it wont fit anyone know why something to do with the fan? if this truck isnt running i cant work please help me out what would need to be done to use this engine and what years can i use?

If it is a 6.5, then it should fit, but there may be external parts that need to be changed to the ones from your original engine. 93 were mechanical pumps versus electrical from 94 on. You would want to change the pcm along with the engine. Take a good look at your engine and the school bus to see what looks different.
