I tow VERY heavy sometimes and have thought of running water to keep the egts down. I would also use it for playing since it would be there anyway. I have talked to some people about it and they say it wont hurt anything. I am worried about blown head gaskets and engines and anything else I might ruin or hurt. How much does it actually drop the egts? It seems way to simple to not hurt anything. I would like the input of people with experience and see what you recommend. Thanks Kevin

I will know soon. Would know by now but Mike has been on vacation. I will post my towing temps when I get some results.

I see a 300 degree differential at full throttle.

Is that 300 Deg. with water only or with water/Meth?
What kind of reduction is normal using only water injection?

Water meth 55/45. I dont know for straight water but it should be comparable but you might have to use smaller jets. Check with motovet he might have used some straight water in his trip last weekend.

No straight water yet. I did run some 20* below stuff and 50/50. The 50/50 definately is the S#$T...but does make a racket. Extreme on kill, 6% grade towing 10/K at full tilt never saw more than 1450* with 50/50 mix.

Hey Moto,
Have you tried straight water yet? If so, how did the results compare to 50/50?

Not Moto, but I can help on this one. From extensive testing I found the straight water only drops it (maintains it) about 100 deg or so. The HP will rise only about 15-20hp because of the higher compression. The methonol is what give the cooling and power. It wicks up the heat and takes it out quick. Windshield washer fluid is cheap and runs realy well. Most of them contain about 20-30% methonol (just make sure it isn't more than 6 months old). It deteriorates over time.

Are you guys running "PURIFIED" water or straight from the garden hose? I was worried about calcium build up on the nozzles. Does the methenol aid against nozzle blockage?

Do not use Phoenix area water either in your radiator or for your water/meth injection system fluid. Use distilled water mixed with windshield washer fluid to the % concentration you want.
Check the percentage of methanol with a specific gravity meter. A sp.gr. of 0.95 equals of 70%water/30% methanol mixuture.
Did you have any luck in contacting the source I recommended for methanol??

Not yet, I am getting 5 gallons from Screwie Lewies before I go and get a drum of it. I just installed the colplete kit yesterday. I will be trying it out by the weekend I hope.
