: Steering Gear- REALLY hard left

Installed a new (reman) steering gear tonight along with a new pitman, idler, and idler mount.

Much better than the old one (which was completely shot), but now I've got an odd issue when turning left. It turns right very strong, but when turning left it sounds like the PS pump is really straining, almost going into relief. I can hear the sound of hydraulic fluid rushing, like the pump/gear is under a really heavy load. It also takes a LOT more steering effort to turn left (than right).

Could this just be bad alignment? If the reman gear I installed is bad, why is it only angry to the left?

Narrowed this down to either....

A week P/S pump, or...

A bend/crimp/kink in a P/S line to/from the gear or...

Alignment.

Not sure which to go with first. Hard to check all the lines.

Believe it or not it's likely the steering gear. My stock steering box used to make the power steering moan and feel as if I had lost the power assist momentarily. This was normally dupliicated in tight low speed parking lot manouvers. Since installing the PSC steering box the issue went away. Lance at PSC tells me they use a larger piston and have better flow through their unit than the OEM box. Thus none of the low speed moans and loss of assist.
