Anybody know where to get the locks that bolt onto the lower hinges?? Don't want my tailgate to get stolen. Thanx. RadRon

I've seen guys slip a hose clamp down on the end of the tailgate that slips out and tighten it. Not totally theft proof, but it will take the thief longer and will most likely motivate him to find a tailgate somewhere else. Cheap and easy idea...

I installed an electric tailgate lock that locks with the door locks so if you lock your truck the tailgate can't be opened.

I just now put a hose clamp on my retro "V" type taigate.Had to loosen 1 bolt on tailgate hindge all else went easy.Just tighten the clamp with head under truck.

I have 2002 Duramax.

:) I just bought a hose clamp and installed last nite. All you need is 1 for the Right-hand side. EASY EASY EASY;) . With the tailgate up, tighten the screw from below. If someone has the time to find a screwdriver and hump under the rear to undo the clamp...... they need it more than I:cool: .

I installed a Bully tailgate lock on my '05. Cost was about $20 from Advance Auto. It replaced the stock besel in the tailgate so it looks factory installed and only took about 5 minutes to install. Works quite well especially since I have a locking cover on the bed. Biggest draw back is now I have a second key for the truck.

I tried the clamp.Works fine.Thanks a lot.
