How do we feel about shift kits? I was looking at the TransGo kit. How hard is it to install? I"m going in tommorrow to chancge the force motor so I'm wondering how much more work this will add. I currently have a BnM electronic modifier which I've disconnected because I feel this may have been part of my solenoid failure.

The force motor is a pretty easy swap. Drop the pan, remove the wire harness and retaining clip and reinstall the new motor. Installing the shift kit is a little more involved.
Removing the valve body while the transmission is in the vehicle is the most difficult aspect of the process. While it's out tho you can also have the TCC valve inspected and bored if necessary. This is one of the biggest causes of the no OD issue and one of the fastest wearing parts in the valve body.
I think you will also be replacing a spring in the boost valve in the stator assembly as part of the shift kit. This is also accessible with the pan off.
All in all, probably a day project (or two) if you take the valve body to a good tranny shop to have the TCC valve inspected and bored if necessary. Personally, I would if you're going to have it out. Be sure to take your time... have the working environment as clean and dust free as possible and take plenty of pictures to assist you with reinstalling the valve body, wiring, and electrical components. There are also plenty of good pics posted here to help with the process.
