I am wanting to get some larger tires but not go crazy with size. I have some H2 rims and was wanting to mount up some 295s on them. Well, I cant for the life of me find any. So I found some 16x8s for sale. They list -6mm offset which I have no clue what that means. There are a ton os tires in the 16 inch range so these seem to be a better deal. Is the offset on them okay? How does the offset relate to stock and the H2s?

Nitto Tire makes a 295/70/17 for your H2 rims. They are popular in the dudge crowds.

The stock and H2 wheels have a considerable amount of positive offset. I don't know what the actual off set is but a stock wheel is 6.5" wide with a 4.5" backspace. A +0 offset would be a 3.25" backspacing. So looks like around a +1.25 inches off set. In other words those 16x8's you are looking at will stick out of your fender wells more.

Don't forget the rim flange which is usually 1/2 inch wide. On a 6.5" standard wheel the zero offset would be (6.5 +1/2 + 1/2 ) / 2 = 3.75 inches backspacing
