We (wife and I) just picked up a 2010 2500HD LTZ last week. GREAT truck. Everything we expected and more! Parking in a tight parking lot is a bit more challenging than our Tahoe, but not that big of a deal. Josh at YourGMParts.com set us up with the DVD headrests and back up camera with installation at Stonebriar Chevrolet. It came out great. My kiddo loves the DVD setup and I think the back up cam will come in very handy when I have to hitch up the trailer by myself.

I can't wait to see how it tows my track car. I'll find out on Friday. :)

Sorry, I forgot to put more info in my profile! I'm in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex area of Texas.

No plans for major mods due to the factory warranty, but I'm planning to do a few things to make it more tow friendly. I'm planning to install a deep Allison pan and Mag-Hytech diff cover when the first fluid change rolls around. I also bought a set of Hawk LTS pads for front and rear. I've been very happy with those brake pads on the Tahoe.

I had the windows tinted, and I installed a Bank's DPF back exhaust this past Friday. Getting the OEM exhaust out was a bit challenging, but I was finally able to snake it out from under the truck. A lift would have made it much easier. I'm not expecting any gains out of the exhaust. I just wanted something that would look nicer that stock and aim the exhaust out the side instead of straight back towards the trailer.

My wife commented that the stock tires were sissy looking when we picked up the truck. The guy I go through to get race tires took the OEM tires and credited them towards a set of Hankook MTs. They look a ton better. We have had these tires on the Tahoe for about a year now, and we've been very happy with them. Very quiet for an MT tire, and they look great, IMO.

I've been debating whether or not to raise the front a bit. I don't want to level it, as I want it level when I tow, but I would like to remove some of the rake. I ordered a set of Bilstein 5100s as the front feels a little soft to me, and I wanted a slightly longer shock in the event I do raise the front an inch or so. We have Bilstein HDs on the Tahoe and they're great shocks.

I love the truck. When you do the deep pan, switch to synthetic fluid and you will see your trans temperature drop a good 20-30 degrees.

Thanks! The plan is to do Transynd fluid with the deep pan. Not sure what I'll use in the rear end, but Schaeffer's #167 seems to be a good choice from my reading on the board. I'm thinking Rotella synthetic 5W-40 for the engine.

By the way, I like your setup! I'd love to have that kind of power! One day, one day...

How do you like the Banks intake?

And thanks for your service to our country! I served 6 years (93-99) in the TXARNG, but I did not see any active duty service other than BT & AIT. Many of my friends in my old Guard unit served in Desert Storm and many that are there now have done multiple tours in Afghanistan and Iraq.
