Im going to the strip thurs nite for test-n-tune and was wondering if the truck will make it down the 1/4 with the OD locked out,I dont want to limp the tranny threw the traps. Im running 285 AT KO's and will be in the 165 mode on my tuner.

You will be shifting into 5th about the 1/8 mile.....or your truck will want to anyway. You need OD if you want a deccent time. If you have no trans upgrades I'm betting with a 165 tune you will piss off the trans. IMO stick it in the 90hp or so level, work on your 60's and just have fun. set your rancho's to all the way stiff too ;)

I'm with Rat, lower your tune and work on the launch/lights etc. I ran a 14.7 w/65hp predator tune and had a ball. You won't have much fun with O/D locked out.

Yep im hooked,I was really surprized at how well the tranny held fifth the way it did although it didnt shift into fifth until the 1000' mark. I think it's got a 14 flat in it...:ro)

Congrats.. The addiction only gets worse now.. I used to run my dmax/alli with OD locked out when I ran 39's.. I don't think a person could do it with much smaller tires..

Depending on the power, the tranny is going to shift in 5th sonner and sooner. With the bastard stack alone, the tranny was shifting in 5th exactly at the 1/8 line. Lately with a .78 jet of nitrous (5/64 drill bit) it's shifting in 5th about 75' before the 1/8 line. Since you have a little less power; it makes sense that you're shifting after the line.
