Hello, I've got a 2002 2500hd dmax with the leather option. My driver's seat arm rest looks like someone used a knife on it 100 times, but it's just cracks. The passenger side still looks new.
How do you replace these? Can you just strip off the old leather and put a new one back over? How is the arm rest attached?
thanks
gary

I don't want to disappoint you guys but, I believe they are vinyl........

buck,
you are exactly right.
chevmeister,
on the extended cab, the rear seat is all vinal (nauga hide -:t )
while the crew cab rear seat has 2 strips of leather, one on each side under the butt portion where you would sit behind the front 2 seats, runs up the back under the headrests. the center section and the rest of the rear seat is all vinal (pleather  )
If you aske me, GM screwed us on the "leather seat" option! and they charged wayyy too much for it too.

Good luck with that one! :lol2: My Tahoe did the same thing, and yep....it's that "fancy" high dollar vinal! ):h Accourding to the 2 dealers I tried to get replace it, it's considered normal wear & tear. :blahblah: But I was told that it could be repaired fairly cheap.
It's kind of pricey, but I went with aftermarket leather and it's sooooooo much nicer than the factory -:t ! The entire seat is all leather, and nice leather at that!!!!
Good luck with that one!
