Took the K&N off and put the 11" cone UNI with sock pre filter over the cone. Tight fit but will go, I figured if the KN would flow more than the UNI I should get close to same flow with longer Uni. Had to cut the stud off the UNI to get it in the KN box. I guess I got a KUNI air filter now http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Ermm.gif

Sounds good.
Not to hijack this topic, but what about installing a UNI
Clamp-on filter (http://unifilter.com/clamp-on.htm) for the crankcase tube?
Is there already a factory filter on it?
Think it be worthwhile?
Thanks for any insight,
T.

Hehh - ok. I just crawled under the nose & measured it.
It's 3/4" so the smallest clamp-on would work.
My reasoning is this; it's "damp" around the exit
of the tube so if stuff is getting out, it's also
getting IN....
YZF1R: I have the AFE, but I'm not going to remove
the filter to measure the pipe - sorry... Just by
looking at it, I would guess anywhere from 3.5-4".
good luck,
T.

Should be 4 " but I would measure to make sure, The K&N is just over 4" and the UNI will stretch over the tube to make a snug fit, Slides on easy.

Never thought but Kennedy probably got these and can tell you what will fit whatEdited by: geno

Ok, here's the link to the AFE FAQ (http://www.afefilters.com/FAQs.asp).
There appears to be several e-mail addresses there
that you can send your questions to.

Thanks guys. I don't have an AFE but always wondered. JK does have AFE intake kits so he is probably a good lead. Thanks Geno. I just don't have the money to buy an AFE and then look for a UNI type filter only to find nothing that fits. I'll have to talk to JK. Looks like we may finally have a way to get turbo noise and the type of filtration that some prefer.
