Got home from work today and my rear wheel was smoking and very hot. I pulled the brake and it looked like one of the cylinders was sticking out and would not depress without a lot of pressure from a c-clamp. Anyways whet and got a new cylinder and put everything back together. The brake pedel works only when I press it all the way to the floor. I blead them but have no pedal. Any ideas? Many thanks in advance.

A) The cylinder thingy you refer to is a "caliper".

B) If you lost any appreciable amount of fluid, or you bled incorrectly, you'll need the dealer to bleed the brakes with a Tech II connected, or there's the "redneck" way.

I think we posted at the same time. You now have air in the ABS dump valves, and either the dealer or "rednecking" it are the only choices to removing it.

Thanks Heymccall, I'll try to drive it to the dealer in the morning.

BTW, my dealer charges 1 hour's labor, plus fluid to do the service. If they aren't using a Tech II and a power bleeder, they ain't doing it right. And, outta 50 or so dealers I've dealt with, only two know what to do without instruction from me.
