I'm posting this for another member that's having fuel guage trouble. His tank will show full for 400 miles, then it will drop off to 1/2 just before it's dry.
Does this sound like a bad sending unit or a re-flash issue.

What does a new sending unit cost?

BTW: He has an 01 dmax, 2500 crew cab 4x4.

It sounds like a sender issue. I don't know of a reflash for this type of problem. The senders are a common problem. The part is about $150 I think.

My buddy was a little put out at the price the dealer quoted him. They wanted about a thousand dollars to replace the unit!

Looks like we'll be getting another diesel stain in the garage!
